Well, it isn't the @mckelvie.bsky.social cover but it is both awesome & a foil (gimme allllll the gimmick covers). Not gonna complain but I might have to troll ebay for Jamie's cover

Cover of Something Is Killing the Children #50. Erica Slaughter stands in a pool of red monster blood in front of a mountain of monster corpses holding a chainsaw with chug chug sound effects

Shit like this is gonna make me pop a blood vessel or something. Maybe I'll go set myself on fire on their HQ steps. I literally cannot express how enraged I got seeing this using the written word but if you want a sonic approximation go put on "surfacing" by Slipknot

The Google play store ad banner stating "make your music with A I turn ideas into soundtracks" over a picture of an actual human with an actual guitar making actual music instead of burning down a wetland to have a computer steal music & slop it together as the ad suggests

It is Cat Day. Here is a Cat. Her breed is "just showed up one day". Her name is Spot. You must tell her that she is a good cat, and pretty cat.

A small orange kitten with huge ears & eyes & a stripey pattern walks on the shoulder of a smiling man, doing her best Princess Donut impression

Oh no the kittens are now named Spot, Socks, Gertie, & Shady. 2 of the 3 orange ones are female, way higher than average 1 in 4 chance

An orange tabby kitten named Spot sitting in a Tupperware container & looking directly at the camera. Her little nose is pink & her eyes are pale green

An orange tabby kitten named Socks with a white spot on the right side of his pink nose & white socks on his feet is sitting in loaf position & looking up at the camera

An orange tabby kitten named Gert (short for Gertie or Gertrude) with no spot on her pink nose but who also has white socks sits in a clear Tupperware container looking up at the camera shyly, considering going away from the big hooman that brings food & plays with teaser wands with her

A black kitten with pale green eyes named Shady sitting faced away from the camera but turning to look over his shoulder with disdain at the camera operator who just wants him to come play

That is a cute flock! My (1st & only so far) flock was smaller but still fun. One of them lived way past the average age & was around 13 when she finally crossed the rainbow bridge & she was much more of a pet by that point, she taught me chickens can have a lot more personality than I'd expected

Black australorp hen named Ninja with a small pink comb & intense orange eyes looking intently at the camera

Oh no one of the kittens has rapidly socialized & decided she likes to nap on my lap & receive pets after a feeding time & also now is named Spot. (I must tell her she is a good cat, & a pretty cat)

A rare female orange tabby kitten with huge ears & pale green eyes lays across my knee with one of her paws & tiny pink toes prominent in the foreground of the shot

Oh no one of the kittens is becoming adorably playful

A 4 week old orange tabby kitten with white socks & belly rolling upside down to swipe at a blade of pampas grass. His blue eyes have that psychotic murderer kitten stare that is somehow adorable

Oh no the mama cat let me briefly give her a head scratches while her babies timidly devoured some wet food

A calico shorthair adult cat on the right watches over her maybe 4 week old litter of 4 as they experience canned cat food for the first time. To the left of the mama is a tiny black kitten looking into am improvised cat bowl unsure of itself, as 2 its 3 orange siblings get ready to chow down while the 3rd orange kitten, the most timid of all, stays back near the entrance to its hidey-hole AKA the small area underneath my AC unit

So this evening Austin had an intense rainstorm blow through & then pass us just in time to give us the rare Rainbow in the Dark in the East With Spectacular Sunset In The West combo *Ronnie Jame Dio-ing Intensifies*

Y'all are missing out by not having me cook dinner for you tonight

A burrito filled with Refried black beans, avocado rice, & shredded green chile chicken. Topped with enchilada sauce mixed with shredded cheese, some fresh shredded Oaxaca cheese & Pico de gallo, with a side of charro beans & sour cream. A glass of elderberry mead to go with the dinner sits behind the plate.

It is above and beyond all my expectations. The team at Dragonsteel really outdid themselves with this. The interior art is gorgeous. The pages are thick & velvety smooth. My only complaint is that I'll be nearing my 60s when they finally print every volume.

For me his rehab started with these two pages Oh damn am I about to go read HoX/PoX yet again

Cyclops having a conversation with Sue Storm of the Fantastic 4 where he says "My family has spent our lives being hunted & hated. The world has told me that I was less when I knew I was more. Did you honestly think that we were going to sit around & take it?"

Cyclops being told by Magneto & Professor X that to prevent the creation of a Nimrod sentinel, they will have to assault an orbital platform in close orbit with the sun designed by Tony Stark & Reed Richards, which is being protected by Sentinels & ORCHIS personnel. He asks Xavier "...does it need doing?" Xavier replies "yes." Cyclops answers "then it will be done."

Today seems like a good day to repost this classic

Civil War Union General William Tecumseh Sherman. The black & white pgotograph is a seated Sherman, waist up, his arms crossed as he looks to the right of the frame. He is in full Union regalia, & has a determined look to his face. A caption reads "Dracarys" in the upper right of the photo.

These curtains can remember if boobs - the answer is yes, boobs

Green curtains billowing in a breeze from the open window they cover. They are tied at the bottom corners in such a way as to resemble a pair of breasts filling a bikini top. They are curtains the way Robert Jordan would describe curtains.

So am I the only weirdo putting them in release order?

Epic Fantasy Bookshelf porn:
Top of the photo are hardcover editions of The Wheel of Time, all with the original Darrell K Sweet/Michael Whelan covers except for Eye of the World which is the 30th anniversary edition with the silver shiny cover. They are shelved vertically in release order. The first 9 volumes show obvious wear to the dust jacket as most of them are decades old & have been repeatedly read. Laid horizontal across the top are the EOTW Amazon trade paperback signed by the cast of season 1 (minus Barney Harris), the WoT Companion, & Michael Livingston's Origins. 2nd shelf visible is the hardcover editions of all 7 Stormlight Archive books in release order (5 novels & 2 novellas) followed by the deluxe editions of Sunlit Man, Yumi & the Nightmare Painter, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Dragonsteel Prime, & the leatherbound 2 volume editions of Way Kings & Words of Radiance

My beloved Escaped Bee on the day I met him & he jumped on me & screamed in my ear until I agreed to adopt him (it took less than 5 seconds). Photo on Halloween Day, 2006.

A brown/white tabby kitten, about 4 weeks old, with big green eyes, pale pink nose & white socks clutches the shoulder of a pale green-eyed man who is wearing a flannel overshirt with colors similar to the kitten's tabby patterns, & his best Mat Cauthon hat. The kitten is in the midst of yelling loudly as he clutches the man's shoulder after having first bounced up to & climbed up the man's torso.

Nice haul from my local bookstore today, especially excited for @nnedi.bsky.social 's new book. Also excited to finish the Dreamblood duology, which means I'll only have 3 more @nkjemisin.bsky.social books to read before I've read them all

Three books, from left to right The Shadowed Sun by N.K. Jemisin, Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor, & Son of the Storm by Suyi Davies Okungbowa
