This is perfect.

As of now, going forward? Myself and a good friend have decided that we will refer to any films released under the Skydance banner (Warner/Paramount etc) as Acme. We encourage others to do the same.

My plan now if I can get them is to grab the other two ‘seasons’ Funi dubbed in the future and maybe movie 3 because movie 3 is my favourite of the early movies. And I know they did dubs for at least up to movie 6.

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I know this dub is ancient and kinda weird. Do I care? No. I couldn’t resist getting these for 30. Thank you random Irish person on eBay. I look forward to rewatching the old Detective Conan dub at some point.

this is a horrible situation. That post office was the only accessable one for the majority of people living in kirkwall that largest built up area in the islands. The how can eejits keep voting for that party given they did this to them?

Just got out of the cinema from Coyote vs Acme. That was hilarious. Solid gold! I was grinning the entire time. Get the physical or digital release when they happen. Definitely worth it!

I am so glad there’s a new Bobiverse book. I completely forgot just how much I enjoy these books. They are peak nerd (same as PHM or The Martian) but I unironically forgot I LOVE this universe. Welcome back Bobs. I love you guys.

While Lattes is just ‘cosy comfort books’ in the same way as the 50 thousand different ‘cosy mystery’ series or Rosemary and Thyme are essentially comfort books for Middle aged white women in their 50s. It isn’t trying to be high art. It’s trying to be relaxing and chill. WHY DOES NO ONE GET THIS!?

001

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

DCC uses the tropes of death game bullshit to spoonfeed you an actually interesting universe and plot with a realistically ‘OH FUCK THIS BULLSHIT’ protagonist in the same way Adams is basically P.G Wodehouse plus Monty Python plus Sci-fi. They both Trojan Horse you. Into fun settings and dynamics

110

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

I love Pratchett and Adams. Have done for years since I was in primary school. I also love DCC and Legends and Lattes. All of these books are good. Stop judging shit by either fandoms or the first 10 pages. It’s so fucking annoying.

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

The internet’s problem with not looking any deeper than surface level in any fiction they read or watch is slowly driving me insane as is the inability of some people to accept that ‘some books are just trying to be cosy. Let them be cosy’ is also a thing that is currently happening. God damn it.

Having now watched Sir_Superhero’s video on Marvel’s Danger lore? I am pissed off. Marvel editorial were idiots. There is so much you could do with existing Danger lore. I would have loved to read the Exiles book after watching the video if it hadn’t been canned. Thank god for the new editor.

Random question to Xmen fans. If I wanted to give the Claremont run a real shot, where would be a good starting point? And would God Loves, Man Kills work? Or could I get a copy for a friend who enjoys X-Men but isn’t a comics guy otherwise? I thought it might be a nice surprise for the guy #xmen

Just got back from Brand New Day. Genuinely enjoyed that. Honestly glad it’s doing so well. It’s a genuinely good Spidey movie and it just reminds me of why I love Tom Holland.

@zagorudan.bsky.social Thanks for giving me the boot I needed to finish L-Gaim and watch Gun/Sword, Victory and Ideon. Much appreciated. I hope i enjoy them and I hope you enjoy more of the SRW games when you watch more of the fan-translated ones (or the import friendly ones like V and X.)

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

A friend has talked me into watching Dr Stone. I’m now obsessed after getting to the end of the Season 1 ‘tournament’ arc so to speak. I absolutely love it but it’s becoming an obsession. The same friend also said they’d introduce me to The Great Pretender tomorrow. I really hope I end up liking it.

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

I showed a friend who hasn’t played one of these before the box and they were really happy to see Dunbine on the cover. Kind of sweet. I look forward to playing this so much.

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Having now finished Char’s Counterattack as seen in my little ‘random comments’ thread, that was a very interesting film. I enjoyed a lot of it but parts of it didn’t make a lot of sense. Maybe I should rewatch ZZ before I watch it again. Char was definitely at his most ‘classic char’ since OYW.

000

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Update: Quess is a bitch. Guynei is an idiot. Hathaway is honestly oddly sweet. The fed government are MORONS. The Nu-Gundam is a cool design albeit fairly colourless

000

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Char and Amuro fist fighting in a random field was not what I expected.

100

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Jegans look awesome. I want to get a gunpla of one now lol. I’m also…not a fan of Quess.

100

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Time to watch Char’s Counterattack after all. Interesting if confusing start so far.

100

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Totally fair. I tried playing a translation of W casually and that is…considerably less easy. Same thing with J.

000

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

To be honest? I think I went into 30th fanboying over the mechs and the wider English release so Y was the first time I went into a SRW game actually knowing what to do. I’m currently going through Y on a 2nd run (which I haven’t done since I was a kid.) I’ll probably end up doing Y and X together.

110

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Valid. Those guys were probably my least favourite thing about 30th apart from the boss fight against Mazinkaiser Infinity. That one drove me crazy when it happened. (I freely admit I hadn’t planned enough. But it was just UNFUN)

110

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Honestly? I’m ok with that as long as Team Dai-Gurren is there PERIOD and I get to blast things with spiral power and shoot things with Yoko. I freely admit I am very easy to please when it comes to the inclusion of series I like.

110

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Thanks for the advice. I’ve got no familiarity with Wataru but i considered X because I can get it a good bit cheaper than V and it has TTGL which is a giant nostalgia button for me. I’ll have to consider it before I choose one way or the other,

000

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Gurren Lagann is my absolute most nostalgic mecha apart from possibly the Zeta Gundam so I had to ask. Also it just so happens I know a way to get the Switch port of X for considerably cheaper than V would cost me so X is probably going to win.

210

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Personally? J-Decker was my favourite unit in all of 30th apart from the Hi-Nu Gundam and the Getter Team so I’ll probably love it. I was asking because I genuinely want to get V, but I saw X has TTGL which is my personal nostalgia mecha so I wanted to ask the general consensus on X. I need it now.

110

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

As someone who is trying to make greater inroads to the SRW series after Y and 30th, I’ve heard the consensus on V is very positive but what is the consensus on X. Is X considered a good game in the series? Thanks to anyone who answers! #superrobotwars #SRW

100

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Out of curiosity, I was also considering X. Do you have an opinion on X or is there a general fan consensus on how good it is? @junkyboy.bsky.social

Honestly I really wasn’t expecting either of the Lupin announcements. So I am VERY happy. Plus all the Patlabor, The Big O and Samurai Pizza Cats. It feels like about 70% of these announcements were specifically for me lol. Thanks Discotek!

040

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

Honestly? I don’t mind. I just want to go into space battles with the pirate Gundam and the space battleship. I do have some basic understanding of the lore for most of these series but I just want to have fun. Even if Crossbone’s inclusion is pretty basic? I’m just happy it’s there at all.

100

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

Ok. Good to know. I saw a video on Unicorn which mentioned the plot of V and also said the magic words Space Battleship Yamato and Crossbone Gundam so I’ve been debating it for the last few days.

100

Scarab500 @nephritescarab.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

Also, I was considering importing the English/Chinese subbed version ot V for the Switch. As a fan of V, would you say it’s worth the investment?
