Next update of Neon Trip - Wallpaper submitted for review. 🤞 Introduces ‘Multi Display Wallpaper’ – Automatically combine your displays for one huge wallpaper image. You can even fine tune the layout using a handy inset slider and by positioning the crop frames manually.

After trying many different ways of setting color space/mode etc. for the wallpaper, it turned out that the preview image only “looked ok” as shown on the dark background. 🙄 I had forgotten that the render output has an alpha component. 🫥 My initial conversion worked fine on a correct image! 😅

I fixed some issues with the scaling and cropping, but there is still some sort of pixel format / color space issue. The preview in the app is fine, but when used as a wallpaper the colors are way off. Nobody said this was going to be easy… #indiedev #buildinpublic

visionOS 2.2 is due to be released very soon. One of the most awaited features is the Wide and Ultrawide Mac Virtual Display. While waiting I am making some tweaks to the renderer to be able to create a few custom wallpapers in the new formats. Here’s the first ultrawide test render.
