SW took the stomp out of Filmstar. The kick is all click and no rumble. Did he layer a dance kick in there? It’s also too loud in the mix. This is like DWTE all over again. Lazy bursts in your face at the end for no reason. I like Trash (goodbye varispeed*!), By the Sea and BO, but time for bed.

A year on from release, I can say with perspective and clarity that I really do prefer Antidepressants to Autofiction. It’s more consistent than AF and I don’t get bored towards the end. The sequencing is also spot-on, each track flowing from one to the next like a slinky walking down the stairs.

Was a privilege to see Scritti Politti today at Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank Centre. Influential sophisti-pop goodness! They did both an afternoon and evening show; as mine was the afternoon, it was his first show in 4 years, but for those in the evening it was merely his first show in 2 hours.
