it's interesting that in each of these elections where a democrat lost, their response to losing was to move further right. like maybe it's moving right that's making them lose. maybe it's the politicians' faults and not the voters. maybe, that's literally how democracy works.

there's another way to do this but it requires more stuff and isn't "legitimate" even if it's more convenient. if you have an R4 cartridge, you can download your gen 3 save files. if your 3DS is modded, you can put your save files on your 3DS, and then use PKSM to transfer everything all at once.
