Page from William Gibson’s Neuromancer with the text:

He rode the elevator down to his level, fumbling in his pocket for the Freeside credit chip that served as his key. Sleep was becoming real, was something he might do. To lie down on the sand-colored temperfoam and find the blankness again.
They were waiting there, the three of them, their perfect white sportsclothes and stenciled tans setting off the handwoven organic chic of the furniture. The girl sat on a wicker sofa, an automatic pistol beside her on the leaf-patterned print of the cushion.
"Turing,' she said. 'You are under arrest.'

OMG actual rising bollard action outside the office today. A sump-cracker! @worldbollardassoc.bsky.social
A man in overalls stands in front of a truck with its front bumper utterly destroyed and a dented but unbowed rising bollard which has stopped it. The bollard and the roadway are covered in black engine oil.

NI currently heading the leaderboard for Top Coastline.
Shoreline at dusk with dramatic clouds above dark rocks and a pebble beachWide angle shot from a grassy headland connected to high cliffs by a narrow ridge with sea on either side. A footpath leads across the top and a figure in a red jacket can be seen in the middle distance. The sky is blue with high clouds. From a grassy hillside near right a broken promontory extends leftwards into a calm blue-green sea. A streak of blue sky is visible through a thin blanket of pale grey cloud. The tops of dark grey polygonal basalt columns at Giant’s Causeway

The thing about living here is that 20 minutes by bike that way -> gets me in to central Manchester, but ten minutes that way <- gets me to this:
A grassy river bank with trees and blue sky in the background. Four cows of various colours have come down the bank to drink from the river, or whatever it is cows do in rivers.

Post show pint in the Victoria Tap. I love this place, it’s precisely what the British version of a typical European station bar should be.
In a narrow bar with a high ceiling and spherical lamps. The bar is on the right with a row of beer taps and a blackboard on the wall above. On the left is an arched window. A woman with auburn hair in a royal blue hoody faces the camera but her face is hidden by her mobile phone
