Also known as: Every shy sub's personal nightmare. ... ... unless?... ¬//¬' Found this old question in my backlog, and since we were already on the topic of bitchsuits, I thought now would be the perfect time to answer it! :3c
"Anonymous asked: How does it feel to wear a bitchsuit?"
Response text: "Bitchsuits tend to be more of a petplay thing, so I don't explore them much. That being said: Very fun restraint design! I'm a big fan of mobile restraint 'suits' and 'outfits' like this. Mercilessly teasing the wearer, while they helplessly flail their wrapped arms and legs all about... must be very delicious. ♥"
Alodo, seated on a pillow in a room, stuck in a full-body rubber bitchsuit, with his arms and legs each wrapped in leather pet walker casings, held tightly with more belts wrapped around them, and attached to either cuffs on his ankles or monomittens encasing his hands. He is gagged with a leather muzzle gag held tightly around his head with more belts, and his cat ears are covered with leather covers attached to the gag harness. He is wearing a collar with which he is held leashed to a hook on the wall behind him. Next to that hook, another hook holds up a list reading "Tease me!! I can't do a thing about it! Things I like:" followed by written text he must have put there himself before. He is anxiously shaking and shivering at the sight of that list, complaining loudly, but unable to escape. Next to him, a large box labelled "Toys for playing with me" contains various kinky playtime items. A few blobs of rubber float around him, controlled by Yous, peeking out from behind a nearby corner with a pleased look on their face, secretly watching over Alodo from afar.QA-free version

That's correct. They're kinda on the edge of my comfort zone. I was never much into petplay, and rendering the crotch area in this one took a bit of bravery... Purely in terms of the restraint set and their looks though, I'm okay with them.

He gets so shy when he notices your gaze upon him... Time to fix that with a seamless rubber hood! Let's make *extra* sure it won't come off anymore... ♥️
A sequential series of shots of Alodo, as he gets a seamless rubber hood pulled over his head by Yous. His hands stuck in monomittens, his arms wrapped up in tape behind his back, and his torso wrapped in a leather harness, he looks up at Yous, and thus also the viewer, with a thick blush on his face, as the hood gets placed on top of his head. Yous then quickly pulls it down over his head. The hood is a seamless full-head coverage, with a small air tube as its only feature. Quickly, duct tape is wrapped around Alodo's neck, sealing the hood around his head. In addition, he gets equipped with a leather collar, which gets padlocked shut on him. Now with the hood properly stuck on Alodo, Yous pats the catboy's now rubber covered head, causing Alodo to make quiet noises of subtle appreciation.

So much rubber...
"zia10 asked: Have you heard of vacbeds/vaccubes?" "Anonymous asked: Curious if ya tried vacuum stuff such as vacbeds, vaccubes, vacsacks, etc." Alodo stuck in a vaccube, with only his head sticking out. He's very flustered. Response text: "Vaccubes seem a bit too unwieldy for my liking, but I'd imagine they're all the more restrictive in return." Next, Alodo is shown stuck in a vacsack, again with only his face free. In his flustered state, he can do little more than moan and mumble. Response text: "Vacsacks are fine, but they look a bit weak on their own. Kinda like you'd need to combine them with something else to make them feel more intense..." Finally, his vacsacked body is further encased in a vacbed - now with his head encased, too, with only a small air tube sticking out. Response text: "... something like a vacbed! Now you're stuck in your tight bag compression, with your limbs held firmly at your sides, but you're also completely unable to move from your spot, as the double-compression hits you from all sides! ... soon to become a triple-compression, if Yous is around..." Yous peeks in from the side, already readying a mass of sentient rubber.

Gotta find the positives in things... I've seen some comments implying that Sonalodo should not be shown in bondage, so here's my official objection to that one. : )
Alodo wearing a spreader bar on his ankles, and another one designed like stocks holding his mittened up hands and collar level. He is blushing and shuffling about awkwardly, unable to move."Anonymous asked: Would you rather be stuck in a spreader bar or bondage mittens for a day? (or both ;3)" Sonalodo, wearing a spreader bar, making an awkward step forward. Response text: "I have experimented with ankle spreader bars enough to know that they wouldn't pose much of a challenge. They don't really 'disable' you as much as they just make you walk and sit kinda funny."
Sonalodo, now wearing mittens, instantly loses his grip on the coffee cup he was holding. Response text: "Mittens, however, I imagine to be much more of a proble- AH!"
In the corner of the image, a chibi Alodo wearing spreader bars and mittens presents himself. Accompanying text: "There was too much empty space here, so here's a chibi Alodo to entertain you."Response text: "... then again, since you didn't mention what type of spreader bar you're thinking of, there may be options here that would be much more difficult to get through a day with..." Sonalodo now wears stocks in the form of a spreader bar that hold his mittened hands in place. He looks down onto his cup, placed on a table in front of him. Sonalodo: "... how do I even pick this up now?"
Sonalodo is now depicted seated in front of his computer, drawing this very art, while having the ankle spreader bar equipped. Response text: "But as fun as the idea of a whole day in mittens might sound, I like keeping myself safe, and having my hands restrained would be very risky solo. So, I'd have to choose the ankle spreader bar. ... though at least that might help me stay focused on my projects, now that I couldn't really get up and wander about absentmindedly anymore..."

🧵5/5 15 years of outfit designs: www.deviantart.com/nekoalodo/ar... Kinky PSO2: bsky.app/profile/neko...
"Again, it's very difficult to estimate the exact time this whole process may take. I spend an average 1-2 hours per day actively working on my art, which, if applied consistently, results in a posting pace somewhere between 1-2 weeks per post. So I'd say we're probably landing at around 12 hours for an average complexity comic page, usually including around 4 panels each. Though if we're talking just a single picture, no comic whatsoever, or we remove some of the rendering steps from the process, that time will of course be lower."

"If you cut a LOT of corners, you may end up with something like this:"
An excerpt of a previously posted "15 years of outfit designs" art, featuring art of various outfits and restraint scenarios, depicted in very small and unshaded form.
"Each of these tiny drawings took me around 15-60 minutes to complete, starting with only an empty canvas and a reference of the outfit. That's as fast as it can get.""I'm not sure which single shot that I drew in recent times took the longest to finish. But this one was probably way past the 10 hour mark for a single image."
The text points at a copy of an old PSO2 "kinkified" fanart I made once, featuring Alodo wearing a futuristic suit with built-in restraint functions, holding up a weapon that resembles a handcuff on a stick, and summoning a large mass of sentient rubber as a magic attack.
"There's a lot of small parts in this one, and some comparatively complex texture rendering too. The design of the suit and weapon also took a good while. Also, especially when you draw solid objects instead of more 'fluid' human-like shapes, slight inaccuracies in the lineart tend to be much more noticeable, requiring a lot more careful work to make things look clean."

"In the end, it's always a trade-off between quality and speed. Even small changes, such as adding an additional chain, or choosing a less complex background for a scene, can go a long way in changing the overall production time of a piece. Also, for some reason, scenes featuring Yous always take way longer to render... Very strange, isn't it?"
Yous peeks in from the edge of the image, waving at you. : )

Artsona, in a pyjama, holding a coffee cup reading "Tie me up pls', looking over his work.
"If I can, I usually sit on the final product for a day or two before posting. This is just so I get a chance to look at it again with fresh eyes, at which point I tend to spot some mistakes that I may have missed before, giving me a chance to correct them before publication. This also includes the description that accompanies my art posts, which I tend to prepare already while I'm still working on the art."

Artsona holding up a letter with the deviantArt logo on it.
"Finally, it's time to post! This always starts on deviantArt, due to some key features of the platform: - I can edit posts, e.g. if a follower points out a mistake that I missed. - Communication with followers is unlimited; There are no arbitrary limits to the lengths of the image description or the comments. This invites for more interesting conversations than the shallow, surface-level statements that some other platforms force you into. - It has a proper and clean inbox system; Followers will always notice my post, regardless of the current time of day or general activity on the platform. This means that I don't have to concern myself with timing-sensitive metrics."Artsona holding up a letter with the Bluesky logo on it.
"Once I got the first few pieces of feedback, and I feel more confident that the art is fine as it is, I continue the posting process on the other platforms. Most of these platforms don't actually cater to artists, meaning that I'll have to do some extra work to make things more accessible. For one, this involves splitting larger images into smaller pieces, both to avoid overzealous compression algorithms, and to account for suboptimal image viewing frameworks. Furthermore, I write up the alt text for the individual images (like the one you're reading right now!) and assemble tag lists for platforms that want them, just to aid discoverability a bit."

Artsona laying exhausted on the floor.
"And finally, it's done! Now all of you get to enjoy the results of this long work process! Over the following days, I keep track of what people are saying about the work, and respond to comments and replies whenever I'm feeling chatty. But: 'After the project is before the project'. So, once I've rested up a bit, the whole process starts anew with the next project."

Shading: 15min - 2hr per panel
Artsona depicted with a harsh sideways light, leaving his whole left side in dark shadows.
"Now we get to shading. For projects that I want to give a lot of attention to, I do this in 2 phases. First, I define all the dark areas. This communicates each object's shape in the 3-dimensional space. I use a combination of hard lines and gradient brushes for this, to give each object its appropriate 'roundness'."

Highlights / Textures: 1min - 3hr per panel
Artsona with a headlamp investigating a rubber blob.
"The second phase is all about textures and reflections. This is mostly highlights, but may also involve adding tiny details to the shading, if e.g. I want to achieve a believable tape or wood texture. It's a lot of look and feel. This is also the part when I regret how much rubber I put in the picture, now that I need to render it all..."Final pass: 1min - 1hr per panel
Artsona is observing you closely with a magnifying glass. His eye is visible through the magnifying glass despite the blindfold.
"And speaking of look and feel, now that the art is effectively all rendered, we can apply some 'global' effects to the whole piece. These are usually very subtle, but they can add a lot to the overall feel and readability of the art."

Artsona presents the finished art.
"The work is complete! Now we can publish it to the internet for all to see!"

Review / Refinement: When it's done.
Artsona is tossing a zip archive at a friend.
"For exceptionally large projects (like a series) I am especially interested in the quality of the results. I am spending months on these projects after all... So to help with that, I let some of my closer friends look over the finished composition in its current state. For any issues they note, we try to find solutions, which I then implement. This may involve small things like changing some of the text, but may also involve redrawing whole panels or adding entirely new pages."

Lineart: 10min - 2hr per panel
Artsona is dashing across the scene holding a lot of precision measurement utensils.
"Once I got enough feedback, and my confidence in the full product is high enough, I start the long process of rendering the whole thing. This starts with the lineart. Since my sketches tend to be extremely messy, that usually means tracing the whole thing with a fresh set of completely clean lineart."Flats: 5min - 20min per panel
Artsona is tossing a bunch of paint at a digital canvas.
"The next step is flats. This one is straightforward; Just fill in all the colors! To avoid introducing "colorless spots" all over the image, in addition to the good old bucket tool, this also requires some detail work via pen tools. An unfortunate side effect of working at such low resolutions..."

Backgrounds: 10min - 5hr per panel
Artsona imitating Bob Ross painting an outdoors scene in which everything is suspiciously tree-shaped.
"Now it's time to add the backgrounds. I don't always go into this step with a clear vision. So, unless I already decided for a specific background during scriptwriting, this may end up going a lot by vibes. Sometimes it's just a gradient to set the mood, other times it's a fully painted landscape. Obviously, the latter takes a lot longer to make. Regardless of what background I choose, it needs to be "done" after this point, because it will determine the lighting for the rest of the process."

You ask me how long it takes to make my art, I respond by describing my whole art process from start to finish. ... which, as it turns out, is *quite long*... 🧵1/5
sissy-baby-kiri asked: How long does it take for you to draw your bondage comics, from conception, to lineart, to coloring, to shading, to posting/uploading on your account(s)?
The artsona on the side: "This is actually very difficult to estimate. There are a lot of steps to this process, including some that have to happen before I even put the first lines on canvas. The overall time also depends heavily on the complexity and scope of the work. Not to mention, an all-inclusive estimate would also need to include the time I spend thinking about the project, even when I'm nowhere near my computer. For some projects, that can be a lot of time..."

Scriptwriting: 5min - infinity per panel.
The artsona is typing away at a typewriter.
"To start, what's easy to forget is that scriptwriting can be a surprisingly big portion of the whole process. Between initial outline, fleshing out the idea and writing out the detailed script, a lot of time can pass. Some ideas spend years in this stage before I finally commit to drawing them out. ... some ideas also never exit this stage, remaining in my ever-growing backlog to this day..."Sketching: 15min - 2hr per panel
The artsona is doodling various things on a big whiteboard.
"Once a script (and my confidence in it) matured enough, I start sketching out the individual parts of the art. I don't care much for actually assembling the whole page at this point, nor about exact details. I just want the lines to start existing and the composition to start forming. Fun fact: My initial sketches tend to be exceptionally low-resolution. (I just find those easier to work with.) There's also a lot of trial and error involved with this step. Like with this drawing! That one looked like this at first." The text is pointing at a smaller, alternate version of the art of the artsona doodling.

Composition: 1min - 30min per panel
The artsona is moving around and rescaling a lot of digital boxes floating all around him.
"Once that's done, it's time to assemble the actual composition. To start, this means rescaling all the various, incredibly small sketches to fill the page, and to position the panels so that the page is filled efficiently. I also plan out the placement of speech bubbles, moving elements around so that the text fits, while ensuring that they're presenting a natural flow. For comics like mine, some people may reflexively start reading panels from right to left, instead of the intended left to right. So finding a composition that 'hints' viewers into the correct read order is another part of this."

It's time to shake things up a bit going forward. : )
A previously unseen character speaks up.
The character features a hairstyle similar to a hime cut, with the front hair covering their eyes almost completely. Underneath, we can see them wearing a rubber blindfold. Their hair and their clothes are colored in a color gradient going from purple to blue. A tiny rubber capelet emerges from under their D-ring collar, though the D-ring has a pentagonal shape. On their upper arms, they're also wearing cuffs featuring D-rings. Around their waist, they're wearing a large belt held shut with a padlock that looks like a huge zipper. They say: "Being honest about myself remains a constant struggle, especially in regards to kink. Not gonna sugarcoat it, my future looks pretty depressing with how things have been going lately... So at this point, I'd already consider it a victory, if I could simply come out of my shell more in that regard. Present myself more as who I really am, instead of hiding my interests and acting as if I wouldn't have any of them."For a moment, the character just stands there smiling awkwardly at the camera.
As the shot zooms out, we can see that, underneath his purple-blue pullover, with long and wide open sleeves, he is wearing a black zentai suit. His ankles are wearing the same type of cuffs he is wearing on his upper arms. A moment later, he realizes he's still being stared at. "... huh, what? Who am I? Oh, right! I should probably introduce myself! I'm the new artsona for this place! A representation of myself, the artist. Yeah, so... I've realized that using one body for 2 different personas is not just a bit weird and confusing, but also very limiting... I want my OC to become more of their own thing, which my artsona-interference is not helping with. But also, if I want to come out of my shell more like I just pointed out, hiding behind a partially-fictional character just won't do me any good."Both the artsona and the previously established character of Alodo are shown T-posing, presenting their designs as if serving as a reference. Both are labelled. The artsona's label: "The artsona • Represents the actual artist (That's me!) • Also a programmer and gamer. • Too shy to let himself get tied up." Alodo's label: "The OC • A fictional character in a fictional world. • Yous' favorite plaything. • Too shy to admit that he wants to be tied up." The artsona continues: "So to fix this, from now on, me and my OC will be depicted as separate characters with distinct designs! The artsona will become the representation of myself as the artist, while the OC will continue as an entirely fictional character, with their own unique personality and their own history to explore."The artsona looks up at shots of himself and Alodo, with nametags underneath. The tags are implying name changes: For the artsona, from NekoAlodo to Alodo, and for the OC, from Alodo to Neko. The artsona: "The only problem I have right now is with their names... I'm called "Alodo" everywhere on the internet, yet my OC is also called "Alodo" in all of my content. Since my SFW name is also "Alodo", it'd make sense if I inherited that name. Then, the "Neko" from my kink name would be a good fit for my kink OC. So for now, let's try "Alodo" for me, and "Neko" for the OC, just to set a direction. We'll see how things develop from there. Probably the least confusing option for the long run..." The artsona turns towards the viewer, cautiously waving in their general direction. "Anyway, let me know what you think! We'll see each other again soon! ... figuratively speaking."
