I would like to see the proposed wording of a CA that addresses this issue. And of course legislation would be needed. What would it look like. The more I think about it, the more complex is seems.

I’m envious of your new family members. Alas, my wife is very allergic. We do have a a really fun pair of dogs.

I recently did a complete binge read of the Foreigner series. Being immersed in the whole story made it all the better. Somewhere, hopefully Bren and Jago can enjoy a nice retirement. Him, sailing and puttering in the garden, she, knitting, because sharp needles.

I was sad, but not surprised. I love all her works, and am very happy she's still with us, in reasonably good health, and able to do many fun and creative things. May she and Jane have very many more years.

I was very sad to read that CJ Cherryh has decided to retire from writing. From her FB post "No problems with daily life or doing creative stuff or enjoying life in general. But the ability to control narrative is just not what it was ...". May her retirement with Jane be long and wonderful.

I am extremely excited that @subpress.bsky.social will be publishing a limited edition of CJ Cherryh's Hugo winning Downbelow Station. Now I have to hope for a lettered tier! Many thanks @subpressbill.bsky.social

From the article abstract — papers written with mixed-mostly cursive letters generally received higher ratings for legibility than papers written with the other 3 styles did. There were no differences between manuscript and cursive in terms of legibility or speed.

A wonderful story indeed. Thanks for sharing it.

In legal terms, this is a "hint".

Parental rights must be coupled with parental responsibility. Not vaccinating kids (unless there is a legit medical reason) is child abuse.

I am in awe of the phrase "an elaborate piece of designer taxidermy".

The republicans have always cared more about rare instances of fraud (and making political hay out of false accusations) than in helping anyone.

Ah, according to Neil Clarke, a revision says any use of LLM’s is prohibited.

I shall depend on the SFWA members to vote down all works that use AI in any way. I’m all for progressive, but trained on stolen/uncompensated work? Hell no.

Maybe Orion? It’s new. I downloaded but have not tried it much.

Related, “whole and juicy” are the best cranberries. Worth the extra cost. Great for snacking.

My favorite Author, and probably my favorite books by her. BTW, in the alt text for the first image, is should probably be "The metal above her is cool purple...", as most of the space-going Hani were female. I always assumed this is Hilfy.
