A Home for Play: National Museum Of Scotland Launches Public Survey For Permanent Games Exhibition
For years I have been asking the quesstion: How do we protect, preserve and celebrate Scotland's games heritage? The announcement of the recent videogame heritage PhD studentship in partnership with Abertay University, the University of Glasgow, and National Museums Scotland (NMS) was a massive step forward. Today, that momentum takes another major leap forward. National Museums Scotland has launched a…

I’m not nominating anything, obvs. But if we decide not to charge students for tuition (good!) we need to find the money from somewhere and not just pretend it isn’t required. Each Eng Uni gets about £4k more per student per year than Scottish ones and that is unsustainable.

This is something to be proud of only as long as Scottish Universities are still being adequately funded for the students they teach. But they are not.

The final honor guard for Pope Francis included migrants, prisoners, transgender people, the homeless and others selected by the Vicariate of Rome as a symbol of the late pope’s mission of inclusion and outreach. Read more from the funeral: wapo.st/3YdDGqM
“That they should be the ones to welcome Pope Francis’s coffin in the basilica is because these people are those who represented the focus of his mission,” said Father Giulio Albanese, head of missionary cooperation and communications for the Vicariate of Rome. “They are those who live on the peripheries, geographical and existential peripheries.”
