Part of the reason Jacob Geller felt like maybe he was different for a second was that, in whatever small and insufficient way, he owned the harm. It takes an eco-system to protect rapists and perpetuate the culture. In this case that was Sam's friends, Chill Goblin and Vadim, aiding in his multiple, contradictory efforts at slandering his victim, Marina faux-accountability, and eventual silence. It was their slandering of Marina's allies.
