I’ve just spent a week in Lanzarote for a friend’s 75th birthday. I had to listen to some other ‘ex-pats’ talk about our problems with small boats, immigrants, asylum seekers etc. My tongue was shredded by the end of the evening - I didn’t want to spoil the evening by pointing out the hypocrisy.
