ChatGPT has a really good "regurgitation" mode, where it can repeat back part of what you said to it as though it were original to help reinforce the responses it's giving you.

Vertigo did well his first night in with Esme. She treated him well, and he found food and the litterbox. He did some exploring. He's found his preferred spot to hide when we come in to bring food/change litter (same as Niall and Junior's favourite spot was in there). Very pleased.

They've been really BAD at legislating in favour of musicians of late, though. I'd love to see it somehow thwarted. But I think the only way to do that is to punish with our wallets those who make those choices. If we wait for legislation, it may wind up in the tech bros' favour.

Oh absolutely. But I can definitely see companies wanting to cut those licenses out by cutting corners. And I can also see some people just... not noticing, because no one's paying careful attention to the music playing there.

Look... the grocery store is still going to need music at 3am. That elevator still needs a tune as it carts you up to the 30th floor to meet with your boss who things AI will replace you entirely in 2 years, and is looking for an excuse to fire you. But no one's buying those albums...

I don't THINK so. I think it's just light coloured and hard to see on these not-super-clear cams. But I'm not sure.

Vertigo is home. Made a beeline for mom (who's in the cubby just beneath him). Meowed like mad when he realised she was there. And has now settled down to chill. She's not sure who he is yet, but he's tiny, so she's adopted a relaxed posture now and is calm.

He's young. I don't expect he'll get bullied too much by anyone. But I'm hoping that he'll feel more comfortable with mom around, and she'll at least not be alone in her room. We'll keep an eye on them either way, 'cause cat moms aren't super maternal post-weaning (or post-spay).

Okay. Vertigo is done with surgery and in recovery. Will pick up in a couple of hours. Vertigo is a boy. 3.6 lbs (~1.6 kg). Estimates are about 3-4 months old. Negative for FeLV and FIV, so he'll be allowed in gen pop.

This one makes (currently) 13 under our roof. Some haven't survived long enough to trap. One was released and died before we could get space to bring her in. Some released back out to help with colony control. And some found homes with patient people willing to put in time.

They'll be reunited with their mom in a few days. So that's a plus. Their sister already has a new home, and she's doing well (with a new adoptive sister, since we had no idea if any of the other kittens survived until yesterday).
