The Pitch:

Nori Savens can’t wait for the Wishing Well to open so she can summon her familiar. But when the shadow cat instantly dislikes her and the Wishing Well stays open, Nori and Sebastian—along with the rest of the island—will have to set aside their differences and work together, or a horde of ravenous familiars will break through and destroy their quiet seaside town.

For Fans of...

The Keeper of Magical Things by Julie Leong
The Spellshop by Sara Beth Durst

with temperamental antiques, quirky friendships, found family, seaside town, and quiet romance.

An Excerpt:

"A strange growl vibrated through the Wishing Well, deep enough to echo against stone.

Something was wrong.

She stared, her chest tight with dread. The shadows sped faster, small sparks of flame shooting into the air. She scrambled back as the Wishing Well opened—and a lithe something jumped out."

I’ve thought about it too, and ended up tying migraine to something sinister that enters dark fantasy territory 😂 Ugh, migraines suck. I have chronic and vestibular ones, so I super appreciate any rep. Had no idea how many kinds there were until I was accurately diagnosed (even now still learning).

This sounds fantastic! And migraine rep, yes please. ❤️😭

We are open for submissions! Send us your laments to the cyclical death of nature every autumn. Send us your paranoid stream of consciousness about how the trees are plotting against you (they are). Send us your weird natures. We want to read them.

Some things I wish I had known when I was a new writer: Being accepted by traditional publishers has less to do with skill than whether they think they can sell it. Just because publishers aren’t ready for a story doesn’t mean readers aren’t. Writing the book is the easy part. 🧵

First, many gentle hugs, headaches suck! Second, YAY that they're sharing the same furniture. How long have they been together for? Regardless, that's major! 🥰 Third, WHERE did you get that blanket from? It's been stuck in my memory for DAYS. 😂
