When you have an audience or a business you have to ensure that you always provide a lot more value to people than you extract from them. If you don't then, long term, it all breaks down. Young people I talk to today...they feel like the whole entire world has broken this contract with them.

If you feel powerless, you really should channel that energy into community strengthening and support. It can be as simple as searching "(your city)+mutual aid". Start there. The most valuable thing you can give is your time, volunteer for a reputable org and make a difference where you can.

Two years ago I knit this beautiful, and very basic, hat. When I got the Embroidery on Knits book for my birthday, I needed something simple to play with, and that hat was the perfect blank canvas. The flowers are a delightful addition and my first real foray into knitwear embroidery.

This is so much fun and I'm obsessed. Thanks to J & J Knits for inspiring me and helping me with my French Knots. I'm so excited to see how it comes out. I'm working on a simple hat I made a couple of years ago and really enjoying the whole process.

The background is a burgundy book entitled Embroidery on Knits. On the book sits an embroidery hoop with a work in progress. The work is daisy type flowers with white petals and gold centers. Each flower is surrounded by brown knots and grows off fine green stems. The hoop and stabilizing fabric obscure what the final project will look like.
