Given I finished off the Epic Eldar reinforcements in the last weem or so, I figured I'd do some Army shots for the Chaos and Eldar - this is around 5000pts in NetEpic for each force. #Epic40k #oldhammer

I've also had a load of BigMrTong models turn up recently. First off the painting bench is an 8 Ball merc. A few further comments on the blog with regard to this chap: amongstancientstars.blogspot.com/2026/06/8-ba... #oldhammer #40k

Some Orky reinforcements are done! This rounds out the finished Orks to around 1500 pts or so. More pics/thoughts on the blog amongstancientstars.blogspot.com/2026/06/orky... #orks #oldhammer #40k

"Alright ladz, lets be proper sneaky, it's time to chop up some beakies!"

Ork kommandos climb a rock face to attack an Ultramarines landing pad.

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 25/03/2026

I'm sure they could be convinced to do a bit of kommando style scaling of a certain rock cliff...presumably they feel the need to loudly show off to all the other ladz how sneaky they are.

Thanks! I figured he should get a bit more screen time, since his arm was in it. Usually it's hard enough to keep him off the table (dice are a favourite offering)!

Thanks for taking the time to listen! I figured a narrative from the warband's perpective would be a nice way of writing things up. As ever with events, I never take as many photos as I should, hence the story framing around them getting ready to leave Krypt.

Thanks! It was a great weekend, and lovely of Ed to show off all of our old stuff on the Minisodes channel as well!

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 12/03/2026

Thanks, that's lovely of you to say. I've wanted some of these sculpts for years, so it's been a pleasure to work on!

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 12/03/2026

Thanks! The fiends in particular are really nice models to go bold colours on!

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 12/03/2026

Thanks, that's really kind! Eye gougingly bright is great fun to paint!

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

I had an absolute blast at the 2nd Heads event organised by Ed from Minisodes at the weekend. A couple of games of 2nd edition (including a huge 3000pt a side one where we managed to get all my Chaos horde out), a game of Space Crusade, and a great time with like minded folk!

I find that it's best not to think about ebay purchases in too much detail...😅

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

It was an absolute joy to play it again after 30 something years. Thanks for bringing it down to the event!

110

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 09/03/2026

Cheers! It's been lovely to work on these old models!

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Yeah, I know, but it's nice to hear it again 😜 Thanks again for designing all the great tanks and bits of terrain, it really helps get into the period vibe!

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Thanks, that's really kind! It's been a load of fun to collect amd paint.

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Thanks! Yeah, the pink is eye searingly bright!

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Thank you! Having that Dreadnought model has been on my wishlist for 30 odd years, so it was great to finally do one!

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Cheers! Yeah, the old sculpts are so characterful, I felt I needed to lean into it with the oldschool banners!

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Thanks! It's been really fun working on them!

A few squads for the #oldhammer #40k #chaos force - some veterans, two small terminator units, and a pack of daemonettes.

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

More #oldhammer #40k - Clavius the Mindfondler, an old #chaos terminator that I am using as a sorcerer, and Xuvis the Mad, a chaos dreadnought. Both Rogue Trader era sculpts.

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

I've been on a bit of an #oldhammer #40k streak over the last few months - and apparently not posting here, so I figured I would rectify that! As a start, here's an old Rogue Trader era #chaos lord, Lord Kruult, leader of the Menagerie of the Damned.

Thanks! Working my way through a few "distractions" on the painting shelf before I go back to more Whigs...

010

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

One of those inevitable distractions - I fancied painting something different from the 1685 stuff, so here are some British Grenadiers for the American War of Independence- I've had these sat in a box for 12-15 years or so, nice to actually get some paint on them. #painting #miniatures #awi

1222

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

Some more Whig (or possibly any non-uniformed) cavalry for our 1685 project, and my command stand for Monmouth himself! Figured I should actually paint the man himself! #oneking #miniatures #wargaming

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

The wagon train moves out! A few random wagons, for any occasion. Again, these are Wargames Foundry models - we mainly use these for our Monmouth/1685 games, but they could be used for a variety of purposes, objectives or scenarios. #oneking #minatures #wargaming

1211

Alex Robson @necoho.bsky.social · 28/05/2025

Thanks! Yes, they're lovely old models. I've got a few more dogs of war and old empire models I need to get painted up in a similar style
