Its kind of like superhero comics in that if it gets too crazy and overdone its meaningless but if you go too far down the "realism" road it also kind of falls apart. There's just certain shit you have to suspend your disbelief for and if you start picking too hard it unravels.

Really feels like AEW is solidifying a distinction between what are essentially filler PPVs vs their real tentpoles. Tentpoles are All In, All Out, Full Gear, Revolution, and Double or Nothing. You could argue for a tier above filler but below tentpole consisting of Forbidden Door and Dynasty. 🤼‍♂️

There was really zero chance that Will was gonna drop the title that fast. I think that match served to establish Okada as a world title level contender for anyone in the AEW audience who isn't as familiar with his NJPW legacy and remind people of his history with Will.

Maybe I was a little harsh but that Salon piece really got to me. It just felt like it was mining the deaths of Butcher and Pac (and even Jay Briscoe by implication) for clicks. As I have said elsewhere I would welcome a serious, well-researched piece on the subject but this wasn't it.

That's my big problem with it. If an actual good journalist like Kim Kelly wanted to do a piece about labor issues in pro wrestling I would be all for it and wouldn't expect it to spare AEW one bit. I also would expect it to show respect to all involved and not rely on unfounded innuendo.

Honestly I don't really care if AEW counters on the same weekend. I think the best reason to counter at all is to allow the indies to run something around it like they do for Mania weekend and they can do that even if it isn't the same exact dates as Mania.

He never did a single thing, even for a second, that was inconsistent with his character. Even if his matches didn't steal the show (and they quite often did) you knew they would meet a certain standard of quality. I am sad to say I took his presence for granted.
