Did you know that missing credits can ruin careers, yet countless devs are excluded? Our alpha build for The Arab League of Misfits has a complete credits sequence. It might not be much for some, but all of our contributors (and of course licenses) get attribution on day one. #indiegames #ALoM

Some of those features are so great, especially with the complexity of Arabic multiple plural forms (singular, duo, more than 3, then the 10s have other conjugations). I'm learning a lot and believe our buddy @zein.games is too (maybe too much 🫣)

Still some tweaks and more duck tape needed to make it better, but I'm so happy with the progress of this build now in 3 languages... And once again, I'm praising @godotengine.org for being one hell of a great engine for Arabic localization support. #indiegames

Those that know me well, probably know how much crediting means to me in the gaming industry. I worked for years with the @igda.org Game Credits SIG making sure we have a solid credit policy guideline for studios to apply freely igda.org/sigs/credits/

You know what frustrates me the most about these pitch rejections? Some of them come more than 8 months since we've sent them, completely disregarding the progress that has been made in the prototype (now alpha) since then. How are you supposed to be judged fairly?

So excited to be heading to Angouleme this week, not just to showcase ALoM to a cool audience, but also hosting the closing expo panel, where I'll be talking about dismantling Western tropes, authentic representation, and turning culture into core game design & gameplay systems.

It's so ridiculous. I've given up after 24 hours of trying the trial out of curiosity. Takes 3-6 months for a mod to verify the claims, and it feels like it's handled by some Wikipedia style moderators.

Some banks do some don't. Like in France I saw comments for specific bank apps not working (Boursobank for example), but the worst is the official France Identité, which acts as our digital national ID to log in to almost all governmental services.

I don't care much for insane cameras as I'm happy carrying my lovely OMD camera, so it makes sense to get an Android device without all the crap Google tracks. @zein.games has one, so I just need to find a way to test if the government apps work on it www.fairphone.com/fr/the-fairp...

So I'm considering switching to a Fairphone with e/OS... But from what I heard, you could apply e/OS on a Pixel, but there's some caveats. For example lots of bank apps and others that use Google services usually don't work on those degoogled OS, so it's something to try sadly

Updating this while I sit by the phone waiting to hear back from a recruiter to see if they have anything yet, still. I feel like I'm losing what's left of my mind in search of something very basic that no longer exists. I always hate asking, but invoices are coming in too slow and too small. Still.

Do you know why game devs have the reputation to suffer from severe commitment issues? Because if they manage to commit, they start worrying about conflicts and immediately push 🤣
