Claudia's death in "Interview With a Vampire" (snuck out of bed and saw it accidentally) or the possessed toys & Mr. Toilet Man scenes from "Look Who's Talking Too".

I like the new Rosy song more than anything on the MM single but still kinda just okay. It would be nice to end the year on a good note so I hope I like the other song more.

You know what he could have done that would have been different than other adaptations? Make an adaptation that’s actually book accurate. Acknowledge that the reason Carrie was bullied was because she was a fat teenage girl with acne and not just because she was forcibly sheltered and badly dressed

I found this image I saved from many years ago! It's definitely from tumblr. What a different time it was. I doubt anybody else remembers Hello! Project posts like these!

℃oncerto is one of the best concerts in Hello! Project history! ℃-ute proves this with an amazing opening number as they perform Otoko to Onna to Forever. It’s fun, sexy, exciting, sensual, and fits the theme of the tour perfectly! They’re so incredible.

A Morning Musume ranking!? What a totally unheard of concept! (I just think sorters are fun.) This feels very accurate! I respect the heck out of Michishige Sayumi. The newest members are lower only because I don't know them well enough yet. Oh… and number 51 is exactly where she belongs.

In 2016, at ℃-Fes, ℃-ute gave a very cute and soothing performance of Kokoro no Sakebi wo Uta ni Shitemita. Their improvisations to the fans add so much and it’s lovely hearing the fans cheer back with so much energy. We need lighthearted songs like this during tough times.

The library isn't your mommy or daddy. Nobody is forcing you to check out any books. Nobody is forcing you to read any books. If you don't like a book, don't read it. If you don't want your kids reading the book, grow up, be a parent, and choose a different book.

This is part of what I'm referring to with many people demanding stories that reassure them they're a good person. They want the moral instruction because otherwise, rather than processing the reading experience, there's a thrum of "am I bad? am I bad? what if someone finds out I'm bad?"

Tumblr post by graftini:

stories about abuse are allowed to exist without reducing themselves to moral instruction. i think sometimes when people complain about the “romanticization” of abuse, what they're actually objecting to isn't necessarily the way abuse is being represented, but the fact that the representation doesn't provide them with constant moral reassurance. like, there is a difference between “this story frames abuse as desirable or inherently romantic” and “this story depicts abuse in an erotic/ambiguous/complicated way and doesn't repeatedly tell me that abuse is bad, therefore the depiction itself is irresponsible.”
