As a director, you’ve basically hamstrung yourself to your own limited imagination. Paul Schrader is a great director. He’s not a better actor than any other human actor. Makes you wonder if he wants collaboration at all, or just a collection of yes machines. But that’s not film. 3/

For one, performances will suck. First, because AI. Second, even if AI could generate a sustained good performance long enough to piece together a scene, you miss the tension between human being and script, and you miss the opportunity for a human to come up with something better than intended 2/

Re: Paul Schrader, filmmaking is a collaborative process. For most mortals, if you can’t convince collaborators to perform your roles, that’s a script problem to be fixed. The allure of AI for people like this is it allows them to circumvent other people. It’s a big mistake. 1/
