fair lol, I guess that didn't bother me as much. in fact now that you mention it, it might have been part of the charm for me as an amateur linguistics nerd. absolutely loved the way that Sawyer and co. draw inspiration from cultures/languages/historical periods not usually replicated in fantasy

have you ever played Pillars of Eternity? beyond its uniqueness (imitating post-revolution american colonies), the setting of the first game is so rich, varied, and full of history while at the same time feeling like a part of a much wider world we don't even see in the first game.

I've putting off upgrading to am5 for years because it would require me to also buy ddr5 ram along with it, so right now I think I'd go with option 1

I should add that it's a fork of Opera and Chromium-based, dk if that changes anything

been using Vivaldi for almost a decade now and every other browser feels so barebones. ridiculously customizable and with a lot of great features (tab stacking+tiling, workspaces, picture-in-picture...) great for workflow optimization nerds and also researching I guess

1. display and performance issues with fractional scaling. admittedly its a very specific setup (2k monitor primary over DP, 4k tv secondary over HDMI) 2. I have 6 disks that I use regularly and for different purposes and I've had some issues trying to work with them as smoothly as I do on Windows

absolutely incredible work. the script, the editing, the music... cold days and dark knight, dark city set a high bar but with this one you've out done yourself several times over imo. highest of praise to everyone involved

is an almost organic shared consciousness that, while predatory, represents the actual sum of human experience, knowledge, and expertise working to keep humanity going. This interpretation might of course be completely wrong if it turns out it's an alien plot to take over Earth lol

How so? I see LLMs as a deeply unreliable technology posing as an interactive human-like interface to the entirety of human knowledge that actually erodes critical thinking for the (arguably intentional) benefit of the ruling class, its owners. The collective otoh (cont)

I think it's great scifi precisely because it doesn't make the "collective" AI-like. Instead it's very capable, organized, sympathetic to the exceptions and their experience etc. It does however (naturally) raise the question of an individual's identity and right to self-expression.

I've seen this take floating around before seeing the show and having watched it I strongly disagree. I think it is a very smart, nuanced and funny exploration of a clash of the American cult of individualism and culture of paranoia with a supernatural collectivism.

fyi the hashtag at the top translates to "I don't give a frick". pipi can be used as a more polite, if childish word for dick, and "boli me kurac" is our IDGAF expression that translated literally means "my dick hurts"

it's crazy that just before Hitler came to power he was a gay crime scene photographer going to underground Berlin bars wearing dresses and makeup
