@flannelforever.bsky.social and I went for a hike today in Whitten Woods in New Portland, Maine. It's part of Somerset Woods and Water trails. The property used to belong to our family. It had been awhile since I have done The Big Rock hike to the Carrabassett River.

I found four small tomato hornworms on my tomato plants this afternoon. So @flannelforever.bsky.social and I went out with a blacklight flashlight tonight and found three more. I'm going to trim some leaves and move my plants(in pots), to make it easier to inspect them again tomorrow night.

This book about the Wolastoqiyik reserve in New Brunswick, Canada arrived today. It was unavailable here in the US. We thought we might have to cross the border here in Maine to buy a copy. It's the history of the reserve where my mother, and many family members originate. I am thrilled to have it.

I no longer have her, but I came home from work one day and the dog had put herself in the timeout room. So, I had to search to see what happened. She had knocked over the kitchen trash. She was a small dog, so it was a big effort on her part.
