Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 04/03/2026The thoroughness of answers regardless of industry. Thank you! That is great food for thought! I don't know that I can find many beautiful veneered ply (small town), but I'll definitely go that route. Makes sense! Maybe I just have to figured out how to veneer it myself after all.. 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 04/03/2026How's furniture making going btw? I was looking forward to seeing more of those posts, but I totally understand you leaving social media in the back burner :) 000
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 04/03/2026Nothing fancy. Just curious what your preferred approach would be for long floating shelves? Mitered ply or hardwood? Intuitively I feel like ply would be cheaper but also not be as pretty. The furniture pieces you shared were gorgeous so I figured you'd know how to approach it for beauty. 😬 200

Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Lol.. I've been working out a new woodworking project and had a thought... I wonder if we can still bug @ecabrams.bsky.social with questions, but now related to all things wood and furniture instead. Or were our incessant questions the reason he decided to pivot to begin with? 🤔 200
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 03/03/2026I've been learning the Piano and when following the Blurred Lines prompt from the new @cgcookie.bsky.social Type Sessions this animation came to mind. The measure that reveals is the actual measure we hear repeating for most of what I was playing/practicing. #motiondesign #blender #b3d 110
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 22/12/2025I can totally understand that. Anyways, just know what we appreciated your craft before too. You have taught so much to so many of us. Looking forward to seeing the pieces you are working on! Love woodworking too, though my projects don't look nearly as polished as yours 😅 020
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 21/12/2025Ps. I'm a guaranteed subscriber when you decide to bring your woodworking skills to YouTube. 🤷🏽♀️ 110
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 21/12/2025A career Irish Good-bye is about the best description lol. I thought carpentry was just a hobby you were really into. Now it makes sense the disappearance from the mograph scene. Your work looks stunning btw! So I know it'll be a success 🙌 All the best and thank you for the teachings. 110
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 08/12/2025The most important skill I developed as a digital artist is how to build my projects in a way that I can (nearly) painlessly update EVERYTHING about it, and fast. A major design shift across the board for the 3rd time in 6 weeks you say? Give me 20 minutes. 000
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 16/10/2025Lol.. it's both maddening and reassuring at the same time. 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 16/10/2025Whenever you feel threatened by technology just remember that my vacuum can't find its way out of the bathroom. Not once. Not ever. We'll be fine. 120
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 15/10/2025Wait! When did we get the ability to save posts here? I've been away too long, haven't notice it. Yay! Custom pinning only needed for organization now. 020

Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 23/05/2025Fellow creatives... how do you juggle the internal struggle of "don't do free work because that's a rabbit hole path" , but at the same time "these are friends that really could use some help and I really want to see them succeed" ? 020
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 23/05/2025Alrighty... crazy busy weeks of hell at work are over. Back to our usual programming. Starting off with rest, because you know, burnout is a real thing. 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 13/05/2025Hey Ryan, thanks for sharing! And thank you for making Keys & Curves real. Like real stuff that happens to us and our industry. The situation sucks, honestly the whole world situation sucks rn. But to answer your questions: yes, a lot of us are spooked and asking what will happen. I'll tag along... 010

Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 09/05/2025Well then... good to know I jinxed myself... 😩 Maybe get it rendered and hold on to the files next time lol 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 09/05/2025usiest time of the year at work. You know there'll be long days. You pull a couple long ones on your terms, render 120+ screens to get ahead. Finish templatizing the project for another 325. 200GB packaged and delivered 9 days ahead! They call: 85% of the in-venue screens are changing. I'm fine 🫥 340
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 08/05/2025Dang... it fills the 100GB I set for it so quick I was thought I was doing something wrong. Oh well! Good to know! Thanks 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 08/05/2025Motion Design folks: is it just me? Or does anyone else have to empty their memory and cache from After Effects several times a day? Honestly, some of my larger - full stadium takeovers, might have to even be a couple of times per hour. If it's just me, what am I doing that is causing this? 🤔 140
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 02/05/2025I need to get in a habit like that. I feel like I can work so much better too... I can actually see my gradients now 😅 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 02/05/2025Just a reminder to go clean your screen. And your keyboard while you're at it. Yes, it feels like a brand new computer, doesn't it? You're welcome. 170
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 29/04/2025Yep! I double checked and the editor I was sending this to was complaining it was too cumbersome to nail the timing and such when you have to dive into another sequence to adjust the replacement media in the mogrt. The workaround: add a PP adj layer and it will preserve the transparency! 000
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 28/04/2025Organizing our new NAS server and found all my old edits in a (dusty) folder... I used to carry a camera on me 24/7 and edit a memory bank at the end of the year. Kind of a Vlog with my favorite memories. Dang, those are sweet to rewatch! Even teared up at a couple 🥲 Gotta start doing those again 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 28/04/2025Let me dig the project where I had to send glassmorphism mograph to PP to refresh my memory. I'll let you know! 000
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 27/04/2025Interesting! Never heard of it. Thanks for sharing! 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 27/04/2025Such a different vibe from this channel that I felt like I had to share it. Love the overall design and how cohesive everything looks, plus we get some new takes on Mograph in Blender! Fun! Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 24/04/2025hmm.. Blending modes... Adjustment layers if we're feeling special. Imagine glassmorphism, with blurs that react to the background layer? A BG that will ultimately be swapped in PP. My current workaround is adding the adj. layer itself as media on the the Mogrt. 130
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 23/04/2025Or how you guys suggest handling the fact we don't know where the end user will ultimately overlay the graphic. How to avoid the editor throwing drop shadows everywhere 🥴 010
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 23/04/2025Yay! Templates! I've had some workarounds for transparency transferred over to PP (think frosted glass look for shape layers) but am curious if you guys have better solutions with the newer versions of AE. 100
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 22/04/2025This trailer is SO good! Best course trailer I have seen since Pierrick's Rigging course. Totally worth a watch! Both the trailer and the course, obviously 😅 030
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 18/04/2025I don't use a ton of add-ons on my workflow, and hardly ever find one that is always on (other than node wrangler 😅). This one is different. Holy smokes how much easier and faster it is to light anything! @glebalexandrov.bsky.social 's overview video was incredibly helpful. Go check it out! 030
Nathi Tappan @nathitappan.bsky.social · 18/04/2025I once told myself I would not leave any projects unfinished... And while I still mean it, I hate that I have 6 or 7 concurrent personal projects that all sound and look appealing to me at the same level, all "in progress" and far from "done". 🥴 020
