Found this old photo of Nate’s Datacenter back in the day with a dedicated dialup connection! Over two weeks of uptime! Netzero was the shit! ~2007. They were one of the only dialup ISP’s I found that didn’t limit connection time.

20G is online! I only have 10Gbps devices so 10Gbps is the fastest I can get currently to one device!

Hopefully my last 8Gbps speedtest. This is a uncapped XGS-PON connection so I am getting everything shes got.

New pfsense testing with my new SFP28 network card. Loopback tests look good, no errors and links come up at 25G. CPU is a Intel i5 4690k @ 4GHz. Hopefully should be good for +10Gbps throughput!

Gonna update pfSense this weekend as well as take down my whole homelab as my ISP is doing some things at my house and they need access to where my Fiber Jack is. Started to get some good uptime!

This is my biggest issue with Steam, downloading a game at only 1Gbps uses almost 50% of an AMD 9955HX3D (16/32threads). I understand its "decompressing" files in real time, but that needs to be an option.

Internet is back up! Legit came back up the second I went to bed last night at 10:30pm!

Only the second time ever I’ve seen the alarm go red in the 10 years I’ve had GFiber.

000

They are here fixing it! GFiber has ALWAYS been on it!

And she's right back to ~2Gbps outbound, always recovers fast!

Wonder if my ISP notices this 2Gbps drop in traffic while I do homelab patching.

I should also note that I also do have always on display enabled but I’ve tested it with it off too and it really didn’t make any difference that I could tell. I’d still be on my 13 right now if I didn’t crack the display. So far no OLED leakage that I was warned about!

Doing homelab update's today and one of my PiHole VM's ran out of disk space. 3GB is no longer enough (4GB partition with swap) for base Debian and PiHole. Even my DietPi Pi is showing 3.1GB used (also have WireGuard installed) on it. I'll move to 16GB partitions as default now.
