You may have called someone who was being rude and annoying a "Karen." A downstream consequence of this trend is that people who happen to be named Karen are negatively stereotyped, merely for holding the same name. Our new research explores name-based stereotypes: doi.org/10.1080/1529...

A threat to many fields of research wanting to conduct longitudinal evaluations is participants may remember their previous answers. Retest reliability, memory accuracy, long-term effects of interventions. We instead show people don't remember what they last said. doi.org/10.31234/osf... #psych

Will AI become a confirmation bias machine? AI can be a powerful tool for truth-seeking. Yet, people might prefer to use AI to confirm their pre-existing beliefs, and features of AI systems (eg sycophancy) may make AI effective at justifying what people want to believe. osf.io/preprints/ps...

What would hurt more: Being rejected by someone who could have been a friend or someone who could have been a romantic partner? Lay beliefs and actual experiences of these situations might not match like you would think. New paper exploring this is out now: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
