I painted this in Procreate for a song, my husband & I collaborated with an artist named Tot on SoundCloud. I wrote & sang the lyrics, (alt text) & my husband mixed my voice. Tot composed all of the music & mixed it. on.soundcloud.com/7LvUmXhMIG2M... #Hope #SensoryArt #heart #music #art #artwork
This is a heart I painted in Procreate. Sometimes I like to paint on my iPad, especially if I am tired, or painting something for music or design. So that I can easily change the colors.
It is supposed to be a heart made out of patchwork of different shapes and patterns sewn together with threads of light. It is in different colours and different patterns on a black background. There are little glints of rainbow coming off of the sides. It was partly inspired by Bluesky earlier this year. It really cheered me up to see everyone’s beautiful posts. Tot sent me this song, (the music) to make up lyrics to, and that also cheered me up. I will put the lyrics down below. I tend to sing songs more on the sad, folky side, but sometimes I like to sing happy songs too. Anyway, if you read all of this, thank you! And thanks for being awesome!

Patchwork Heart

I’m a pattern on a patchwork heart
What am I gonna do with my little part?
Cover up everything that’s dark?
Or shoot light outta my heart

Like a rainbow
Cut through the clouds
Like a rainbow

Shuffling along inside my shoes
Walking on a different road than you

I’m hoping we can find a thread to share

Seems to me we’re really quite the same
Really quite the same
We’re different patterns cut in different shapes

Ooo, are you?
Maybe not, maybe we are
The same thing, underneath this
Ooo, are you?
Maybe not, but what if we are
The same thing, underneath this?

Do you wanna make a patchwork heart?
We are only strong as the thread holding us together
Double seam on the things that we really need
To hold the light in our hearts

Like a rainbow

Cut through the clouds
Like a rainbow

Shoot out my heart
Like a rainbow

You’re in my heart
Like a rainbow

Stick together like a patchwork heart
And shine our light

Like a rainbow
It’s the colour of light

Stick together like a patchwork heart
And shine our light
Like a rainbow
It’s the colour of light

Like a rainbow
It’s the colour of light

Hello, I have been busy in my garden this spring, but I got out this weekend and did a bit of sketching by the river. It is mildly or wildly inaccurate, I can’t tell, but it was fun! #ParksvilleEstuary #PleinAir #Sketchbook #NatureSketch #SpringSketching #VancouverIsland #watercolor #landscapeart
This is a picture of my hand holding a quick watercolour sketch I did at the Parksville Estuary, Kw’a’luxw (Englishman) River. The sketch is in focus while the background is not. The sketch is predominantly green with a blue sky and just a little bit of water down below. It is very loose and messy. Behind it, is a view of the trees and river with a bit of rocks in a forground.

Hello! I hope you feel loved today. 💖 I’ve been trying limited palettes, and this is one that I call Whisper Way. If I could coat my world in a custom theme, this is one I would choose when I seek some peace & quiet. #watercolor #landscapepainting #landscapeart #womenartists #landscape #watercolour
This is a watercolour painting, held down by rocks in all four corners placed on my charcoal desktop. It is a painting of a riverbend with a round shrub tree in the foreground, and trees in the background. The colour scheme is pink, mauve, light desaturated, green and dark desaturated green and gray and white. The trees are a combination of pink, mauve, white, gray, and desaturated green. It looks like it’s icy and snowy.

Hello! I got to go out Sunday with my new easel! I’m trying to paint outside once a week to break out of my winter blues. It was cold out, but I brought hot coffee and a couple of cookies and wore a warm jacket. #pleinair #pleinairpainting #vancouverisland #landscapepainting #paintingoutside
My easel set up on a mossy cliff with a watercolor painting of a forest and mountains. The painting is attached to a white board, with paints, brushes, and a green water cup on the tray below. The background shows trees stretching to distant blue mountains under a clear blue sky.

Hello! I haven’t posted in awhile but I’ve been really enjoyed seeing everyone’s beautiful posts this month while I’ve been quiet. Thanks for brightening my gloomy winter days. 💖 I started this on a cloudy day in the woods and finished it at home. #watercolor #mixedmedia #forest #trees #natureart
This is a watercolour painting on my desk. It is a picture of a tree in the woods. The background is kind of blurry and faded out where the watercolour ran softly. In the foreground, there is a tree with bright green moss on it and some brown sticks coming out from its base. There are also little white spots that are supposed to be berries. The colours are mostly teal, gray, white and bright green.

Just sharing a painting that I did last week, held down by some collected stones. Hope your day has/had more ups than downs. #watercolorart #landscapepainting #islandlife #pnw #watercolor #painting
This is a picture of a small painting that is held down by stones. It is a watercolour painting in grays, blue-gray, pink and desaturated lavender and green. It is a painting of a couple of trees on a small island with their reflections showing in the water. There are clouds above. The feeling of the painting is calm.

There are four stones holding down the bottom right side, and one stone each holding down all of the other corners. My desk ( the backdrop) is charcoal gray.

This is where I exist, between laundry, simmering soup, helping my kids with schoolwork and driving all around town in pursuit of various adventures. These colours are my besties and ease me through the sleepy, gloomy days. #painting #landscapepainting #watercolor #wip #watercolorart #landscape
This is a watercolour painting placed on top of my desk. There is a charcoal black background (that is my desk) There is a large cup of coffee to the left of the painting and a pink pencil case up in the top left-hand corner. In the right top hand corner there’s a bit of a water bucket and along the right side are my paint pans in different shades of green purple and pink. The painting itself is a watercolour work in progress of a landscape in soft pastel colors, purple, pink and gray. It is a painting of a close up small shoreline/cove with a couple trees on it. The colours are mostly cool except for the warm pink. There are also pencils and a gray pencil crayon over top of the painting.

This is a little watercolour I painted, placed on a pink shawl I have never worn outside my house. I should wear it out right? Maybe next year, it’s getting pretty chilly here these days. #watercolorpainting #watercolor #painting #trees #landscapepainting #artwork
This is a watercolour painting that I painted of some trees on a hill with faded mountains/hills off in the distance. There is bright pink on some of the edges of the tree branches that catch the light. It is painted in moody colours like dark, dusky, purple gray, and some faded out yellow and green along with the hot pink. It’s placed on top of a pinkish-purple sweater material.

This place is putting little spots of sunshine into my days. I’m grateful to see and share here. This is my painting named Afternoon Walk. I should name it Afternoon Bike, cause that’s what we do there. #watercolor #warercolorpainting #landscapepainting #painting
This is a watercolour painting in portrait orientation of a gravel path in a yellow grassland area painted in soft yellows. There is a large-ish tree painted in bright greens on the right, snuggled up to the path. Its a deciduous tree, so it has a rounded shape and a small trunk at the bottom. There is also a small boulder in front of the tree. Light is coming from the right, and soft gray shadows fall across the path. There are 3 houses in the distance but you can only see the roof of them. There are some trees in the distance as well. The sky is a mix of smeary white clouds and bits of pale blue. The painting is held by clothespins to a wire on my (soft pink) wall. Its a little crooked.

Good Morning :) This is a watercolour painting I did sometime ago. We used to walk here everyday, now not so much, but thats ok. Rain or shine we would walk, my husband and I, along this beach with the wide skyline. #landscapepainting #painting #watercolour #watercolourpainting #beachpainting
Another painting of mine attached to a wall with 2 clothespins. Its a watercolour painting of a beach boardwalk in pale peachy pink, Naples yellow, and bright greens in the foreground.

The boardwalk runs from left to right on a slight angle, the right side slightly further up the page. Warm dark gray trees are off in the distance on the right, and a muddy mess of grasses in yellow, pink and green spout out of the bottom left corner. Pink light reflects off of the boardwalk, and the ocean in the distance is yellow like the sky.

I hope your day is cozy and bright, or at least there’s a part of it somewhere you like. I wanted to find something around my bedroom studio that reflects how I feel coming to this place. This is my willow branch in acrylic. (i’m new at this) #art #acrylic #painting #natureart #willow #branch
This is an acrylic painting in my sketchbook of a bunch of willow branches against a lightly textured, denim blue background. My sketchbook is sitting on a larger painting of a blue sky. The branches are dark gray and speckled with white spots, and there are little white fluffy flowers coming off of the branches and pointing in different directions. The page pretty much has branches going from the top to the bottom.

Hello Blue Sky! I'm new here. I've been hiding away for awhile. I'm glad this place is here. This feels like a nice place. I'm sharing my minty forest painting to see how it floats around in this (new to me) sky. #painting #landscapepainting #art
This is a photo of a watercolour and pencil painting placed on top of another painting of a blue sky. There are about 6 trees in the foreground that are a charcoal grey with white spots. Bright sap green moss is on the bottom of the trees.
There is a curvy path behind them running along most the bottom of the page. There is a hill behind them with more trees in the mid ground, one evergreen in the center, then smaller, more distant trees towards the top of the hill and page. The colours of the foliage are mainly a soft minty green with touches of grey, and bright yellow green. The overall feel is soft and minty with straight charcoal spotted trees extending beyond the vertical top and bottom of the page.
