An illustrator’s morning: the comic scene requires the character to retch, and you think “I’ve never drawn retching before” & are struggling to picture it and your instinct is to make a retching face but you’re sat in a nice neighbourhood cafe next to a young family, so decide ‘better leave it’.

A pink and purple digital poster advertising “Patricia’s Sunset Cocktails”. The text is floating in a punch bowl. Below this is antler decoration. At the bottom there is a drawing of a bonfire. Additional text reads “The Salty Whale” and “7pm til late”

Leaving a comment that references something late into a persons video is the viewer equivalent of wanting an A grade from a therapist or a server

As an adult I don’t psych myself up for movies like I did as a teen - I don’t ever look up trailers - but boy I’m looking forward to Coyote vs Acme. (Coyote v Acme?) Screw Warner Bros!
A four-panel comic drawn digitally. The first panel shows a shrugging person, and is captioned “a new superhero movie!”. In the second panel, the person scratches their head and the caption says “a new Bond movie!”. In the third panel, the person looks at their watch as the caption reads “A new Nolan movie!”. The final panel has the caption “coyote v Acme” and the person is shown in three different poses of extreme excitement, clutching their face and head and waving their arms.

A few years ago, I was trying to explain to my sister why John Goodman is hot and she told me she didn’t get it, but then her eyes widened and she said “Wait, did he play Pacha in The Emperor‘s New Groove?” And I said yes, and a look of realization and awe came over her face. She got it.

I watched Close Encounters for the first time and I have thoughts
A three panel comic in greyscale. The title reads "IF CHIEF BRODY IN JAWS BEHAVED LIKE RICHARD DREYFUSS IN CLOSE ENCOUNTERS". The first panel shows a boat in the foreground on which two men are kissing. One of them wears a cap and fishing vest. In the background, an adult and two children stand on the shoreline and one child yells "dad!". In the second panel, the hatless man dives from the boat into the sea. The third and final panel zooms out to show the boat on the ocean as the man swims towards the horizon, where there is a shark fin.

Excessive health data, a comic
A five panel comic in greyscale. The first panel is the screen of a smart watch. The text reads "SLEEP SCORE:", and below it, "SLEEP PARALYSIS DEMON SCORE". The second panel shows a person holding the smartwatch to their face and looking confused. The next two panels are dark, and show a sneaky-looking demon that is jumping and somersaulting in the air. In the final panel, the demon lands upright onto a bed, where someone is sleeping. In the background, three other demons hold up scoring cards (8.8, 8.2, 8.6) and a speech bubble from the side says "oh and the judges liked that-"

Something I feel strongly about
A one-panel comic in greyscale showing a tall hill, on top of which is a big billboard or sign that reads "PODCASTS ARE AN AUDIO MEDIUM". Below the sign is a small grave. An arrow points at the grave, with the label "ME". Signed nataliebsketching

This was supposed to be a “doodle” but doodles should take less than 5 mins. Part of “my week in doodles”, a series(?) I’m doing to demonstrate looking at life through a cartoony/visual lens.
A cartoon-style digital drawing showing a large hourglass with a person trapped inside. The text above reads “LOST SEVERAL HOURS TO A FRANTIC COOKING GAME”. The person is wearing a chef costume and saying WHY.

The experience of posting art is bad! But I guess we have to do it. I designed a sticker about it
A photo of an iPad screen showing a black and white drawing with the text “born to draw / forced to post”. There is a disembodied emoji-style head with a sad expression, holding a crayon in one hand and a smartphone in the other. Beneath the head is a broken heart symbol

I finished a new ‘Crow & Craig’ comic and it’s on the indie shelves at Gosh Comics!! There’s also a mini version of the original comic for £2 ✨ The series is about a corvid (Crow) and cryptid (Craig) trying to live a peaceful life in the woods, unbothered by human nonsense (usually)

Rumbled by a fortune cookie [insert the theme music to ‘The Americans’]
A one-page comic strip. First panel: a photograph of an actual fortune cookie fortune that says 'respect the privacy of your neighbours'. A glasses-wearing woman looks at the fortune with concern, before turning on a bare lightbulb and running down some stairs to a door marked 'utility'. She slams open the door to reveal a man wearing headphones surrounded by screens and technological equipment, with wires running along the floor. The woman says: "they're on to us".

I re-did an old comic as a sticker design. Support shrivelled up artists
A comic drawing. There is an image of a tap spurting water, with text saying ‘“AI art” wastes our water. Support dehydrated artists.’ Next to this text is a skull and a paintbrush. The skull says “we’re low impact”.

Loot includes: an e-reader with 238 depressing novels; 4000 collected napkins; off-trend glasses with a decade-old prescription; 5 million steps (and an image of a Fitbit); some crumbs; too many pens; an inferiority complex (and an image of a small blobby creature with a sad expression)

Can someone explain why, in my free time, I play games to simulate extremely stressful work
A four-panel comic in which a woman is seen working at a laptop until her watch beeps 5:30pm. She says “time for the evening shift” and in the final panel she is now playing on a Nintendo Switch but looking extremely stressed and exclaiming “we’ll never survive the lunch rush!!”

😎
A two-part comic. Part 1: a woman wearing glasses takes a coffee from a barista, who is saying "I like your jacket." The woman replies "thanks, it's Zara." She adds, "I think Bad Bunny wore Zara in the half-time show." (An asterisk notes that she read this in The Guardian). The barista replies, "yeah, it was a good show." The woman says "yes." The vibe is awkward. The woman flees with a grimace, and the caption says "barely escaped interaction". Part 2: In a book shop, the same woman wearing glasses is told "I love your scarf!" by another customer. Glasses woman says "Thank you! someone complimented my jacket earlier, so I'm feeling-" The other customer adds, "you're buzzing." The woman says "yeah". The other customer says, with emphasis, "today's your day." In the final panel, glasses woman is now wearing shades and has her hands in her jacket pockets and radiates "cool".

Picking up my fucking digital bindle yet again
A three panel comic. The first panel is titled “once upon a time…” and shows a person in glasses sat at a desktop computer saying “I share my creative endeavours in a blog! The internet is fun!”. The next panel is titled “present day, in which the same person is saying “… you can find me on hubbub, zoop, flaz… I left rinky-dink cuz of the Nazis… uh, I’m on borp-“. It cuts to the final panel where another person interrupts to say “oh, borp is also Nazis”, to which they reply “fuck!”
