Delighted to see the 80th Session of #WMO Executive Council approve a new resolution on polar and high-mountain observations, research and services today. Thanks to the #PHORS Management Team, WMO Members, and especially Ran Zhang for making this happen. Now on to implementation, #IPY5 and #DACS.

4/ We also need innovative financing. Without sustained investment, the data we depend on may not meet future needs. Without sustained investment in observing systems and data infrastructure, there is a real risk that the availability, resolution, or quality of data will not meet future needs.

3/ To respond to cryosphere change, we need stronger collaboration—bringing together data, science, and services to support better decisions. In the age of AI, this means ensuring the core data we rely on is shared and accessible.

2/ From the Antarctic Climate Forum, #CliC2026, the Panel of Experts on Polar Observations, Research and Services (PHORS), #MonacoPolarSymposium, the WMO INFCOM Management Meeting, and World Day for Glaciers and World Water Day at UNESCO, one message is clear: we cannot move forward in silos.
