Got Metroid Prime Remastered cuz it's on sale. Feels just like it did on the Prime Trilogy but way shinier 🤩 Wtf is up with that thermal visor tho? Also I forgot just how much damage the Omega Pirate does. Dude does NOT play around. Now I really want Prime 2 and 3 remastered too. I miss those games

The Persona 30th anniversary Persona 3 watch I preordered finally shipped, but now DHL wants a customs "clock and watches" sheet filled out. I emailed CDJapan cuz idk how to fill it out, but of course DHL notified me about the form right before the weekend so I gotta wait. Customs nonsense sucks

Went and saw Resident Evil on a whim. Didn't like the ending, but aside from that it was mostly enjoyable. Definitely had moments that felt like the games. Leans a little too much into the humor sometimes. More than anything else tho, I've learned that going to the movies alone is pretty lonely...🫠

Random thought, in the Metroid manga there was Old Bird and Gray Voice, names that I assume were translated from whatever they were called in the Chozo language. In Dread we have Raven Beak though. What was that translated from in Chozo? Did Zebes have ravens? Why's he named after a bird from earth?

I feel like narratively Samus is too strong with Metroid powers. I think it'd be interesting if Ravenous has multiple endings, like if you use her Metroid powers too much she loses herself you and get a bad ending, and if you don't she maintains her humanity (or chozoity too I guess?)

Maybe I'm just getting old, or maybe work and life just have me way too exhausted, but I'm not as excited as I should be for a new Metroid game. I think one issue might be that to me it just looks too much like Dread visually and gameplay-wise. I hope there's more new stuff that just Metroid powers

I used to joke that I'd only ever get a Switch if a Metroid game came out on it. Then Dread was released and I got a Switch. Now that we're getting Metroid Ravenous, am I gonna go get a Switch 2? 🤔 Also, why do the special edition preorders always sell out immediately 😭 I still never got Dread's

I have an unrealistic hope that Atlus remade P3 and P4 for newer fans to be familiar with them so members of those casts can make substantial appearances in Persona 6. As an adult, I'd love to see characters I loved from my high school years grown up too.

Beat original Resident Evil 1 2 and 3 since they released on Steam. Then tried to start 0 again, and hopped onto 4 for a minute. Omfg why do they change the buttons every single time? Sometimes the run and shoot are swapped! Sometimes the run and menu are swapped! Something's always changed! Why???😭

Thinking about how often you fight Vergil in DMC games and wtf it's like 16 times DMC1 3 fights, 4 if you count the fake one in Nightmare DMC3 3 fights DMC5 5 fights as Urizen (prologue, rematch, Dante prologue, Dante rematch, Dante final) + 2 as Vergil DMC reboot final boss + Hollow Vergin in DLC

I've got a lot of problems with Metroid Prime 4, but thinking about it, the weirdest one is the metroids themselves. Did the devs even know what a Metroid actually is? It's so weird that they show up but never actually do anything a metroid does. 🤔

I hope Castlevania Belmont's Curse is good. It's been 18 years since a proper new Castlevania game and it could be amazing or terrible. Metroid Dread was amazing after 19 years, but Metroid Prime 4 was disappointing after 18. It makes me worry. I just want my favorite childhood franchises to thrive.

Playing Tales of Xillia Remaster and as a working adult I love that the game lets me turn on exp/money/item multipliers. Way more tired after work, way less free time, and the game acknowledges that some people can't invest as much time in completing a full jrpg.

Went back to play some #MetroidDread and I forgot how hard the game is before the wide beam. I think locking the diagonal aim while moving to 45° would have been better just so players could focus on movement rather than movement AND aim. Having to stop to aim well really slows the game down.

Hard mode makes me actually hate Metroid Prime 4. The final boss is taking out half my health in a single attack and I'm at 100% item collection. That's completely insane. The stupid arms take forever to take down and he takes barely any damage when he's vulnerable. The fight feels impossible

Spoilers for #MetroidPrime4, as much as I've complained about the game, I did like the mines sequence. It felt a bit like Aliens, fighting hordes of the monsters that used to be normal locals, slowly losing companions, and eventually confronting the omega (or queen) down at the bottom.

Metroid is my favorite game series. If it wasn't for the Sol Valley and the green crystal grind, I could look past my gripes and recommend it to newcomers to the series. But Sol Valley and the green crystals exist, and in my heart I can't recommend the game. I'd rather point them to Prime Remaster—

Metroid hot take, Sylux is a loser. He uses stolen Federation tech, and he seems like he's just a dude with a grudge. The first encounter with him in Prime Hunters he fights you with his gunship cuz he knows he can't beat Samus alone. The other hunters have no problem going 1v1.

Minor spoilers for #MetroidPrime4 I realized why the logbook is so disappointing. In Prime 1 and Prime 2 we get tons of info about the conflict: how the Chozo tried to deal with Phazon, how the leviathan seed hit Aether and how the Ing came to bed and accounts from their war. (cont)

I feel confident in saying I had fun for about 2/3 or Metroid Prime 4 despite most of its shortcomings, just not as much fun as the rest of the Prime games. Unfortunately the last 1/3 was me running around finding green crystals and fighting an anticlimactic final boss.
