When I lived in Panama working for the Smithsonian, my mom came to visit and we took her to Boquete to see this bird. After flying around a bit, female went in nest hole, then male joined her with tail hanging out. Truly unforgettable!

I just finished the is book by Minneapolis-based writer @jonathanslaght.com and it was one of the best books I’ve read lately. I didn’t expect to be so captivated by Amur tiger conservation in the Russian Far East, but the writing was top notch and I couldn’t put it down. 10/10 would recommend 🐅
