This is my favorite sceenshot of any TV show. I'll admit, as a Dutch guy I'm biased, but this is what The Blacklist thought life in the Netherlands was like in 2016. Moments later, a body will drop through the ceiling and I want to see the spin-off where this family does a "The gods must be crazy."

Watching the convergence episodes of #criticalrole and I kind of love how the other tables are slightly lost in just how much plotting the schemers table has gotten on top of. They went off on these clear fantasy quests, came back with a few curveball answers and saw their friends roll for jobs.

The exact thing that makes Mortal Kombat a great fighting game is what makes the movies ass. Like, there is barely any plot and the characters are visually evocative meat puppets for the grinder. That's a great arcade game, and an ass premise for 90 mins of mid tier special effects.

Comic books and their movies are sitcoms: there is no critical footage, by design. There are however some affecting end points if you let them be. if you stop watching dare devil after hawkeye, kingpin gets unceremoniously capped by his adoptive daughter who he manipulated, and that's real drama.

Not exactly my childhood cinema, but in my late teens, early twenties I went to Apollo in Delft A LOT. They had service buttons for cheap beer and fried snacks, and you were allowed to smoke there for like a year and a half after it was banned everywhere else.

The apollo cinema in Delft, Netherlands, now long since closed. The picture is from when it was still open, but it already looks worn down on the outside. The sign reads "Miss Congeniality" and "The Exorcist." Graffiti adorns the black and grey facade.
