I do IT for healthcare and let me tell you; neither the doctors or nurses understand tech beyond logging into a computer and typing on a keyboard. You should not expect them to understand non-medical technology shoehorned into their lives through the whims of greedy hospital administrators! Please!

-but more of a warning. You can still sue a doctor for malpractice (e.g. botched medical procedure) but there is no legal prescient yet on how that all shakes down if all the fingers get pointed to the AI scribe. Until there is stricter rules put in place, don't be patient zero who dies from AI!

Until there is federal regulation that holds AI companies liable for any failures, you, the user, shoulder all the risk associated with the AI. No one is responsible for what the AI writes in your chart but YOU! YOU have to audit it YOURSELF after every visit! This isn't meant to be fear mongering-

I've started to see this happen more commonly since Epic is one of the leading tech companies for medical/dental charting in the US. If for any other reason, remember this: Human error is still liable for lawsuits, AI error is a known feature you agreed to when accepting the use of AI!

Most of you already know this, but for those who don't. When your doctor asks you if they can use AI to transcribe medical notes; always say no. No one from the hospital to the AI itself are liable for any medical malpractice caused by an AI note taking app hallucinating. Don't risk your health!

To follow up with the emphasis made in keith’s last drawing stream; a checkout person asked me unprovoked if i thought it was bad luck he got a car for $8k because someone died in it. I told him most houses had someone die in them and they still cost over $100k, so i think he got a good deal. Lol

Almost every city in the US has these camera’s, they are incredibly easy to harvest data from, they store high-def photos of nearly anyone and everything. You couldn’t ask for a better tool to fight your government with, PROVIDED BY THAT SAME GOVERNMENT! Orwell could only dream of such hubris!

If you want the most productive version of myself, one that can run circles around any other in my field, you have to meet some very specific; but profitable, requirements. First: 4 hour shift with salary pay. Second: No direct human communication. Third: clear guidance on current company goals.

It might also be because I grew up before 9/11 and was still growing up during the aftermath of 9/11 so watching a country go from normal vanity culturally to a cult-like America that is a pure, untouchable, sacred land of freedom and democracy. America rapidly spiraled into cartoonish patriotism.

9/11 is such a quizzical experience as an American because the line between serious and overreacting is so blurry it’s barely visible. Most remembrance celebrations either have the vibe of a clown at a funeral or a funeral for a clown. I think it is just the right mix of self-own and patriotism.
