The AfD winning in the state that has one of the lowest immigration stats in Germany is something that should terrify everyone. People in deprived east-Germany aren't voting based on issues or policies. They are voting with their anger. Austerity has failed in the UK. It will fail in Germany too.

Federalism has a way of creeping its way into the system. It starts with common borrowing - which the EU has done several times now. One day, we'll get to the point of the EU needing taxation powers. The other aspect is an EU army. There's already strong public support for this actually.

Laying off 4000 employees costing MS $100k a year each is a move that makes up for the cost of acquiring Activision in around 172 years from now. That's before inflation. This never has been about affordability. MS' 12 billion in tax breaks from the Trump admin alone cover these costs for 30 years.

We don't even need everyone to be on board. Under Article 20 of the Treaty on European Union, we only need 9 member states to initiate enhanced cooperation. For any matter concerning only this mini federal group, they could even adopt qualified majority voting, doing away with unanimity.

I've ditched Google search for Ecosia for the last 3 months, and here's the results! I can count on one hand how many times I needed to go back. If just 5% of Europeans did the same for 3 months, over 150 million trees could get planted from the revenues.
