Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Breaking the Silence: Supporting Disabled Workers at Work. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.
Despite decades of legal protections, TUC research shows that disabled workers continue to face systemic discrimination, bullying, and exclusion in workplaces across the UK. This Disability History Month, join our practical webinar designed for union reps who want to make a real difference in changing that culture. This session gives you the tools to challenge discrimination, build trust, and push employers to take real action. Drawing on the latest findings from the TUC’s July 2025 research, we’ll explore: - Common employer barriers to supporting disabled workers — and how to challenge them effectively. - Building trust and confidence so workers feel safe to disclose disabilities. - Handling bullying, discrimination, and harassment complaints fairly and firmly. Tackle discrimination. Build confidence. Demand inclusion. We want everyone attending TUC events to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If you require any adjustments or assistance to participate at this event, please le

I'm a second year funded PhD researcher at the University of Leeds and this project comes out of my undergraduate tutelage in social anthropology at the University of Manchester, where disability was mentioned a handful of times during the curriculum. And the absence of Disability Studies and a focus on disability in the discipline led me to interrogate where are all the disabled anthropologists. Today, we launch #AccessToNowhere - a campaign led by disabled people demanding urgent reform to Access to Work. | Access to Work Collective
Today, we launch #AccessToNowhere - a campaign led by disabled people demanding urgent reform to Access to Work. This scheme is meant to support disabled people in employment. Instead, it’s failing us. - 62,000 people are stuck in a backlog waiting for decisions. - 33,000 are still waiting to be paid. People are losing jobs, income, businesses, and even their homes. 📢 We need your support. 1. Sign the open letter calling on the government to fix this broken system https://lnkd.in/gvN_xVqp 2. Write to your MP (we've created easy-to-use templates) https://lnkd.in/g7cegcwt Add your voice. Share widely. Together, we can make this crisis impossible to ignore.
