The owner is justified in being frustrated at having thousands of people attacking his store over a misunderstanding. Kelly is also justified in feeling frustrated if she felt perceived as not being able to afford a $15000 toy.

It's not unreasonable for the shop owner to downplay the sale and say "yes, but it's $15000 and ships from Seattle, let me show you a cheaper one you can buy today." Most people are interested in buying something and walking out of the store with it. This bird is not that kind of item.

On Art of Play... it's not a normal store. It has one-of-a-kind handmade items. The bird on display was not for sale, but for $15000 you could order a similar one from the creator in Seattle.
