If you're wondering what Knitty is, who I am, and how the whole thing started 22 (almost 23!) years ago, this chat I had with @sweetgeorgia.bsky.social is one of the most enjoyable ones I've done in a long while. Felicia is a great interviewer. sweetgeorgiayarns.com/the-sweetgeo... 🧶

When I started Knitty in 2002, advertising supported most free content. That waned in 2008 with the economic crash. Now things are different. In 2025, if you want the content you enjoy on the web to continue, supporting it directly is how you make that happen. 🥰 patreon.com/knitty #supportKnitty 🧶

Knitting has been a constant in my life for 15+ years, evolving with me through every season. Excited to present Knitting the Threads of Culture & Sustainability with Fashion TMU & Ontario fiber farmers. Do the thing that hasn’t been done—stay consistent, and the world will align. 🧶🧶

Can't get over this design. It was such a fun knit drafting up graphs and figuring out my stitch counts and such. Also, I'm getting better with knitting intarsia 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 🧶🧶

I felt it would be the perfect complement for the front of my sweater, protecting the Ikenga on the back. 🧿🧿🧶

I was searching for inspiration for the front of my sweater when I came across a post by a talented friend of mine that instantly resonated with me. I reached out to ask if I could knit the design, and he kindly agreed. Bringing this idea to life was such a joy! 🧶🧶#knit

I love that I’ve discovered this symbol. I believe the one on top represents the sun änwụ́. So fascinating! 🌞 Second sleeve ✅ #nsibidi #nsibidiScript #nsibidiSymbols

First daughter: Àdá. I’m the Àdá of my family, but here’s a funny story—when I visited my village, everyone kept calling me Àdá, and I didn’t respond because I didn’t realize it was for me 🤣. That’s the day I learned what Àdá meant 🤣.

Knitting my thoughts into reality is a powerful expression of myself. I affirm who I am through it. This piece is a story of me in every way. Let's start with the sleeves. Powerful and Influential woman, Agunwanyi! . Nsibidi is my passion, and I am proud to embrace it in my work. #Igbo #nsibidi

Notice it's wrapper, I was inspired by the picture of the Ukara cloth. 😊 #Ikenga #Nsibidi #StrengthInCreativity #KnittingArt

I designed a unique knitted Ikenga featuring knitting needles on the left and a yarn ball on the right. The face of the Ikenga showcases an Nsibidi symbol for strength, blending culture with the art of knitting for a modern twist on this ancient symbol.

HAVE YOU SEEN A KNITTING IKENGA? . Ikenga is a symbol of personal strength, success, and achievement in Igbo culture, often represented as a carved figure. Traditionally, it embodies the power of an individual’s right hand, which is used for action, creativity, and hard work.

I'm new on here and a little shy but I wanted to share a cardigan I designed and knit. It took about 3 years of researching the Nsibidi/Uli/Akete cloth motifs on it and I also wrote an article about it with Digits and threads!!
