Another #beanie is finito! Happy how it turned out. The #spiral that emerged was unexpected but welcomed. This one has many eyelets so it breaths well. #knitting

Saw this “little” guy the other day. The largest #moth I’ve seen since I was a kid.

An amazing evening with #chanticleer at the #EloraFestival tonight. The closest to vocal perfection I’ve yet to hear!!

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' - Isaac Asimov

Been forever since I’ve #photographed anything. Today these guys called out to me. #greenenergy #lifefindsaway

An artsy photo of a broken gate caved in from the right side making a triangle. At the centre of the triangle is a wheel of a car in the background, making it look like the wheel somehow caved the gate in. An optical illusion.

An electrical utility box on a grassy lawn. Emerging from the brown utility box are vines with white flowers on them.

A broken electrical utility box with many wires spewing out. Intertwined between the wires are green vines. A red flag is in the background.

A close-up of the utility box wires. The wires create interesting and gnarly shapes, almost organic. The wires are framed by the vines.

Part of me wonders if #trump is starting wars so that when the #midterms come he can justify postponing them.

Butterfly populations are crashing through the floor. One way people can help is rewilding their gardens. At the very least, mowing lawns less often. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Plea to gardeners after one of worst years ever for butterflies

Alarmed at declining numbers of the insects, conservationists are asking gardeners to keep grass long.

Whenever I try to use less #packaging I’m being penalized. If I go to the #BulkBarn to buy nuts or peanut butter and use my own containers to save on waste it actually costs more than buying them in the grocery store. All I want to do is help the planet! The system does not favour this.

Am I sad? Definitely. But surprised? Not at all. Saw this coming years ago.

Two steps forward and one step… I missed a few things on this when I checked it and decided to rip it out. Always a little stressful! Going to work with a lifeline from now on :-) #knitting

The pattern continues to emerge. This is the first project I’ve done that has holes in it when stitches are intentionally skipped. I’m #knitting with Italian #Alpaca #wool.

My new project. The Martha #beanie by Amanda Morse that I picked up from Ravalry.com. Learning some new stitches here! Looking forward to seeing how it will turn out.

As an experiment, just deleted my #Amazon account. There was a life before Amazon and I don’t remember feeling less “fulfilled”.

As a fun side project I’m touching up some stuff on my mid-60s #Yamaha #U3 #uprightpiano. The white key tops were replaced when I bought it years ago, but the fronts are very discoloured. 1 hour of sanding each! But worth the result :-) Looks like new.

Sanding the front of the white key. Need to get it down about 50% before it starts to brighten again

Removing keys from the piano. Looks like someone is “missing a tooth” lol

A noticeable difference in shade when old and new are compared

Currently watching ‘The Madness of King Trump’. It’s available, well, everywhere. The cast is small and fairly white-washed. Acting is decent though. At times it feels like a rip off of the Handmaid’s tale, but this is more of a black comedy. Not suitable for children.

Finished this project today. Made with Italian merino wool. I wasn’t happy with how the crown initially turned out, so I went back and made up my own pattern to finish it. It was the first time I’ve had to redo a project and I learned a lot! #knitting #beanie

On #Ontariotoday on #CBCRadio, they were discussing how Canada could respond to the emerging #tariffs imposed on our goods. Instead of retaliating in a knee-jerk fashion, let's rely more on ourselves/allies and let the US shoot itself in the foot. Logical when dealing with a bully.

Here’s a piece I composed many moons ago. It’s in the style of a very short, gloomy #Chopin #waltz. I feel it fits the current mood of the world. May it be a small emotional consolation for all the mournful souls out there, who face deportation, discrimination, war and unemployment. #piano #composer
