The Web Accessibility Directive turned six today! With IAAP EU, we marked six years of progress. But work remains. As the EU focuses on simplification and deregulation, we must ensure that everyone can access public services and participate equally in society: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...
Today is the sixth anniversary of the Web Accessibility Directive! When the directive was born six years ago, it was ahead of its time.
But is it still? What has changed, and what still needs to improve? What we shared during our and IAAP EU event on Celebrating the Web Accessibility Directive Anniversary (WAD).

How often do you see persons with disabilities in leadership positions? And how many of them are women? At the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU High-Level Conference on Equality, our President, Gunta Anča, reminded us that equality is not a cost. Exclusion is.
Gunta Anča, EDF President at Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU High-Level Conference on Equality.

Quote:
If a few comes mind it might be because it’s actually quite rare. So you remember us.

Discrimination against persons with disabilities is the reason why you don’t see more of us in leadership positions. Discrimination is everywhere. In education, healthcare, housing ,employment.

So, what should we do?
Stop pretending that equality and leadership
are not achievable because it costs too much."
