Before Craigslist, there were still lots of indoor workers (outnumbering street workers) and they often found clients through print. Ads in magazines, papers, and business cards in phone booths being some of the most stereotypical. These things have been restricted now, so we can't go back to them.

A lot of people doing online sex work are doing it because we need a flexible schedule and/or cannot get or maintain other kinds of employment, the options left if that disappears tend to be riskier in-person sex work. I went from camming to brothels in part because camming was so restrictive.

Online sex work doesn't "pull" sex workers from the street, it stops us ending up there. People generally sell sex on the street as a last resort. When you restrict online content so people can no longer make a living from it, our bills don't disappear, so we move to something else.

Now he'll never get a chance to be better. The last thing I said to him was that I could never forgive him for being abusive to his kids as long as he kept joking about the after-effects of that abuse, and not making any amends or even acknowledging to the kids it was wrong to hit them.

I'm having weird grief. Someone I knew well for 7 years, who I constantly argued with and openly disliked, recently killed himself. He was abusive to his kids and I spent years talking him out of hitting them. He was often bigoted. And I've been crying since I read about his suicide in the news.

Law firms only seen to take cases on for free when they're at the most extreme (death of a baby, permanently disabling injury) so there's not really any other recourse than speaking about it.

Nothing much materially. They said they were giving training as a result, but the dates stated of many of these trainings were from months before I went into labour. I got an apology from the hospital but not from any individuals who harmed me, and they don't seem to have faced consequences.

What I do think many of us are searching for is a way to describe what it's like to live in a transsexual body and we're too poisoned by medicalised language and slurs and awful anti non binary discourse that we can't find our way to it and hate people who pick different words.

I describe all non-binary people as trans, though not push people on using the label individually, because that's what it means to not exclusively be the gender you were assigned at birth.

If I'm talking about discrimination I face as a non binary person, I do feel like I have to clarify that I'm transexual too. There are so many times that my medical transition or need to medically transition has hugely impacted my life.

The phenomenon of non-binary people who don't consider themselves trans is linked to others using cissexual to describe non-binary people who don't medically transition. One isn't more transmedicalist of a framing than the other, it's just one includes the speaker being direct.

The way I cope with processing trauma is through humour, but stopping in the middle of a story to go, "Oh, yeah, I definitely got molested. That's a textbook 'I was molested as a kid' thing to say," disturbs a lot of people. For understandable reason! Much to consider.

I've heard people call it a second traumatization to be called to prove you were raped and subject to disbelief/questioning, but something I see acknowledged less is the way that trauma gets dug up and makes you sick every time you see other survivors being called liars.
