there is so many classic games engines that have amazing widely avaible support and tools to make your own games on it, and you can start learning how they work by the basic creating your own level and maps before branching out on creating your own gameplay mechanics on them

because if everything is so "unreliable" you make the player either min/max it to make it reliable (specializing in very few things) or fully ignore it... decreasing the amount of things a player is willing to try.

I wonder if that's why japanese RPGs (both tactical and traditional) have such a high hit rate, with a bigger emphasis on reducing incoming damage thru damage reduction buffs/debuffs/abilities instead of increasing/reducing hit chance

Make me think this is more of them testing waters for some future game that use a job system, rebirth and so far revelations is so full with excess of subsystems it does make it look like they are doing what they did with 7 original, where many developments from it branched out into their own games
