iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Yeah, svelte hero Link is nice, but I'm personally a fan of Link being a goofy little guy with the physiology of a squishmallow.

It would add a lot of much needed nuance to the mansion, especially if there were survivors from the Umbrella labs who may turn a new leaf or be treacherous, or be infected. The big scary "boss" monsters would provide emotional weight as survivors deal with aftermath.

I've seen people complain "Why can't we just have a Resident Evil movie set in a mansion?!" Fair, but I think that would make a better TV series. 8 episodes, one for each in-universe hour. Focuses on the STARS team and their relationships, mystery elements the viewer can follow along with.

Considering I've been 90% silly this year, I've had to level that out with learning how my thermostat and radiators work in preparation for winter. ...Now with that awkward 10% seriousness out of the way. Butts.

I caught the trailer for Street Fighter before Resident Evil started yesterday. Gotta say, perfectly happy with this Kung-Fu-Hustle-esque absurdity of characters having ridiculous and cartoony powers.

Inked in blood and bound in flesh, 6+ movie contracts allow previously killed and incapacitated characters to return from the dead and back to their prime because... Money.

Dang, that would have a lot of emotional weight and impact, if they didn't make an entire movie about variants, and the replacement of anchor beings that undoes the permanence of the death seen at the end of Logan.

Goddamn it, YouTube. I saw "5m" and thought "A teaser?! From five minutes ago?!" No, 5m as in five million views when I was able to zoom out for a hot second just enough to see it was uploaded 9 months ago...

Hollow Knight Silksong's Sea of Sorrow teaser thumbnail from Team Cherry, regrettably uploaded 9 months ago, but my brain farted and I thought the 5m was "five minutes" and not "five million".

I’ll never forget the joke where Rimmer puts BSc at the end of his name to look like “Bachelor of Science” when it actually stands for “Bronze Swimming Certificate”. I’m a bachelor of arts, but Abye, BA just sounds like a long way of saying “ABBA”.

Given the format, I would not be surprised if one plant was "Leafy" Vuoto, a con artist escaping from a life of street crime in Honolulu by pretending to be a house plant. ...And it is just a house plant. A shifty looking house plant, but it just droops slightly when questioned.

I reported her and changed therapists shortly thereafter. The mold queen is known for two things; writing and bigotry, and the therapist seemingly put her blinders on for the bigotry. Not to mention that “rags to riches” was pretty fucking insulting; I wasn’t in rags, I was unlucky.

Abye @mxabye.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It’s never over and its goddamn tiring. Last year, my therapist (who knew I was nonbinary), compared me to the mould queen because she (allegedly) wrote her way out of poverty with a hackneyed book series. It was a video call and you could quite literally see me digging my thumbnail into my finger.

What sticks out like a sore thumb, however, is that Raccoon City has incidents *famously* around 1998. They’re in the modern day. But, its a small gripe, its glossed over just enough to make it a fun adventure than a logical inconsistency.

It does play things fast and loose with the material it uses, so it occasionally feels like an “in name only” branding. But it does do things with camera angles, reoccurring locks and some fun commentary on guns being used by the everyman.

The new Resident Evil movie wasn’t half bad. Bryan makes for a fun and relatable “player” insert, it has a bunch of tropes from the games, does something interesting with viruses and parasites and the limited dialogue makes for a good laugh instead of a bad one.

This does feel like performative “you’re rejecting what’s normal and already here!” rhetoric. But it also feels like the worst version of wonder, where the steps between start and end are treated as the automated incomprehensible, instead of relishing the curiosity of how something is done.
