A black "Now Playing" physical media stand, displaying The Evil Dead: Book of the Dead limited edition DVD released by Anchor Bay in 2002. Limited to an unspecified number of copies, this release controversially presents the film exclusively in a matted 1.85:1 aspect ratio and is the only domestic release to include Bruce Campbell's documentary "Fanalysis". Its rubbery faux-skin texture and warped, wrinkled imitation flesh reflects the photographer's increasing awareness of their own age and mortality. A largely symbolic re-purchase of disposable and far outdated product from their childhood, it represents happier times, a retreat into nostalgia and a desperate attempt to resuscitate connection to their lost youth. The photographer is momentarily lost in DVD-era encoding artifacts, briefly returning to a time of optimism toward the film industry in general and their own creative ambitions within it, before they are abruptly and painfully returned to the present day by the sight of Harry Knowles.

not interested in posting face - I am both vain and tired-looking - but a solid enough overview of my aesthetic

mirror selfie of a pale androgynous person with green hair wearing a stylized Videodrome T-shirt and strategically covering their face with the phone they're using
