my current WIP is about a 13-year-old girl and i'm writing a group chat exchange between her and her friend group and even though i'm only 21 it's got me feeling like 'how do you do fellow kids' so baddd. i may well cut it but i feel like it's establishing the MC and the dynamics of her friendships

You ever notice that the “let’s band together to hate a thing” is never reserved for aggresively hateful media? It’s only ever reserved for unapologetically queer media.

i've been reading pretty consistently this past week - more consistently than i have been in agesss. honestly my mind has felt a lot clearer today and perhaps it's a placebo kind of thing but i've felt good about replacing a lot of my instagram reels time with reading.

next week i'm going on holiday with my queerphobic and generally right-leaning family so i feel like the best and only way to prepare myself is to rewatch the birdcage.

i'm having a kinda rough keyholdrr shift today and every time it feels like too much i have to remind myself that jon snow was also a reluctant leader with coworkers who made his life difficult. (i'm still in my GOT era so everything always comes back to Thrones.

it's my birthday on wednesday so i've treated myself to some cross-stitch kits. i wanna start doing some original designs or finding free designs but i love me a good cross-stitch kit.

maybe i'm just like jon snow fr because i too am a reluctant leader (i'm doing my first keyholder shift tomorrow at work).

finished watching game of thrones last night (yikes) and read the prologue of the first book this morning. ik it might be a mistake to start reading an unfinished series but my years of reading fanfiction has prepared me for this.

there was an emergency alert in the uk that everyone else got but me. i was on the bus when it happened and everyone else on there got it. i can't explain it but this is so me-coded it borders on parody.

i hate how tips for spotting ai writing have made me self-conscious as a writer for using phrases or punctuation i'd otherwise use. every time i catch myself including those things in my writing, i feel obliged to delete them in case anyone accuses me of using ai.

say what you will about shelby oaks as a movie but the song from it, 'big sister', is so damn good. i've been listening to it on and off for the past few days. it reminds me a lot of a story idea i had earlier this year and now i'm getting back to work on it.

A screenshot from Letterboxd displaying four movie posters with corresponding star ratings underneath: Zombieland (three stars), Chucky's Family Vacation (liked, not rated), Seed of Chucky (three and a half stars) and Bride of Chucky (four and a half stars).

ordering a suit online for my dad's wedding and i'm pretty sure i'm gonna have to learn how to take up trouser legs since i'm 5'2" and fat and there was no option to get trousers with shorter legs. i don't know how well the jacket's gonna fit me either but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

i wanna get a big-ish pokemon plush. not anything crazy big but huggable. i'm looking on vinted and there are some good options. i'd love to get a plush of my favs, trubbish, breloom, cubone and venonat, but there really aren't any widely available or the right size.

my internet's off indefinitely and i'm rationing my mobile data, so to pass the time i'm writing a short story about a character who definitely isn't based on brienne of tarth, who is taking her lady to be married. it's medieval in the same way that bridgerton is regency.

031

mx piggy @mx-piggy.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

my internet is off and, while i have plenty of mobile data to tide me over until it's back on, this seems like the perfect opportunity to ignore my phone and watch some dvds. maybe even read, if i could be so bold.

not to get heated about a vidya game but it pisses me off so bad in dbd when i've got a full team of survivors and they all just leave me on the hook until i reach the second hook state.

trying desperately to find some sapphic cowgirl romance books but like none of them are on kobo or libro fm. bloom town is on libro fm but i'd rather read it than listen to it since it's historical fiction and i'm baddd at taking that in unless i'm reading it.

working on a tv pilot script (for funsies) and like it's going fairly well so far? like the flow of it is decent and i have a sense of direction. genuinely the only problem is that it's a dramedy and it's just... not funny yet. need to watch derry girls and adjacent shows for inspiration.

my StoryGraph review of the Housemaid; if you're a McFadden fan probably skip it because i am not kind to this book. app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/a095...

000

mx piggy @mx-piggy.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

the ending of the housemaid by freida mcfadden feels so disingenuous and faux feminist when the rest of the book is the FMC fawning over attractive men and crediting them for basic human decency, while complaining that every other woman she encounters is an annoying bitch.

mx piggy @mx-piggy.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

i'm reworking one of my novel ideas into a screenplay format and seeing how it goes. it might work better; it might not work at all. not sure if it's gonna be a movie or tv script(s) but i think the aim for now is to write out the different scenes that i've planned out and figure it out from there.

110

mx piggy @mx-piggy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

at first i wasn't at all convinced by the accusations of the housemaid plagiarising the last mrs parrish. i assumed it could just be a case of similar but not identical stories and genre conventions making for two similar books.

110

mx piggy @mx-piggy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

listening to the housemaid audiobook by freida mcfadden and i hate how much of mcfadden's writing is just her making up hot muscular men. i mean i dislike her writing style anyways but the fact that i have to wade through this man-centric drivel is maddening.

010

mx piggy @mx-piggy.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

i'm reading a YA mystery/thriller book i'm not fullyyyy vibing with right now because i'm not a huge fan of how a romance has been set up. so i was scrolling through the storygraph reviews of it to see the consensus of it and i'm pretty sure i came across an unmarked spoiler for who the killer is.

cleaned the bathroom today and when i was doing the shower, i accidentally switched the shower on twice. thankfully i was standing far enough away that it only kinda spritzed me but it was very, very annoying.
