I am genuinely sad that the USA doesn't appear to be engaging in this. First because of the solemnity of the event and the USA's pivotal role in bringing about the liberation, and second for the lost opportunity for back-channel diplomacy. Seems like exactly the thing for a VPOTUS to attend.
