Do you know where your drinking water comes from? In our region, we depend on the Potomac River. Help us celebrate this waterway and others in the region during #SourceWaterProtectionWeek by taking action to #ProtectTheSource!
A river with text overlay "Every drop starts somewhere. Do you know your source?"Four steps to Protect the Source. 1. Pick up trash. 2. Pick up pet waste. 3. Use less (or no) winter salt. 4. Reduce lawn and garden chemical use.

The leaves are changing, but smart water habits never go out of season. Recent rains have helped improve drought conditions, but portions of the Potomac watershed remain abnormally dry. As we head into fall, continue practicing wise water use year-round. 🍂💧

Your drinking water is safe during the Potomac Interceptor repair process. But it’s still a good time to take stock of how much water you have stored in case of emergencies. Experts recommend storing 2 liters per person or pet, per day—for at least 3 days. 💧
