Progress continues at the DC–Maryland border. Over the weekend, crews completed an invert pour, placing concrete inside the Potomac Interceptor where the pipe changes in size. This prepares the section for sliplining, when new pipe will be installed inside the existing line.

Crews are responding to a water main break near New Hampshire Ave & Hamilton St NW impacting approx. 65 customers. We’re working with Pepco to stabilize a nearby utility pole so repairs can safely begin. The break has been located & damaged pipe will need to be replaced.

The first 51-inch Hobas pipes have arrived at Pennyfield Lock! 🙌 Crews will use the fiberglass-reinforced pipe to rehabilitate 1,700 feet of the Potomac Interceptor through sliplining. Site preparation continues as additional pipe deliveries arrive.

25 years later, Washington remembers. We pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 lives lost, including those at the Pentagon, and honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders. We stand with the survivors and families whose lives were forever changed. We will never forget.

✅ Another milestone complete! The Potomac Interceptor near Broad Run, Loudoun County now has a new reinforced lining. Once cured, it becomes a new pipe inside the old one, strengthening it and extending its life. Next: manhole lining, restoration and demobilization.

Critical repairs on the Potomac Interceptor at Broad Run revealed groundwater leaking into the damaged pipe. We sealed the opening and reinforced the pipe inside and out with a strong concrete-like material to help restore its strength and reliability. #DCWater

Here’s what we’ve been up to at the Piney Branch Tunnel construction site! Crews are drilling 78 steel-reinforced concrete columns to form an underground wall supporting the shaft that will be used to build the tunnel. Once complete, the tunnel will help reduce overflows during heavy rain. 💧
