Six campaigners from our group (Make Votes Matter Chester and Compass Cheshire) attended Nantwich Food Festival on Saturday 5th September and spent over 3 hours campaigning for PR. We got lots of good engagement, handed out numerous campaign leaflets and obtained 27 new sign ups.

She is a sponsor of Alex Sobel’s amendment for a National Commission on electoral reform. Fingers crossed!

Nearly 200 MPs have signed an amendment to the Representation of the People bill for a National Commission on Electoral Reform. But with the bill delayed until September, we need to show support from the public, which you can do by signing the ERS petition; we need 100,000 signatures by September.

Our current system First Past the Post does not reflect how we vote and with multi-party politics, it is now a liability. At the 2024 election, Labour got 34% of the vote. A party could 'win' next time with less than 30%. Proportional Representation would address this. makevotesmatter.org.uk
