Yeah, this may be the worst double feature I have seen in years. All is not lost, though. This morning I finally watched Jeanne Dielman, which was excellent, so overall it was a good movie day.

Getting ready for The Social Reckoning by reading my reviews of past Sorkin-directed films. Prepared for another stinker.

My letterboxd review of Being the Ricardos: "Can Aaron Sorkin actually direct? Having also seen The Trial of the Chicago Seven and Molly's Game, I'm not convinced. This is a fundamentally flawed movie. Kidman and Bardem just don't work, and the framing, with fake direct to camera "interviews" is terrible. I am interested in the subject - I watched a lot of I Love Lucy as a kid, and loved it. This was just bad, though. Except J.K. Simmons. He was great."

Dear Sarah I hope this skeet finds you well. There is something magical about the moment a post finds a mutual, and that is exactly the feeling I had when I read yours. I spent time with "Seriously this shit is insulting", and I have to tell you, I truly fell in love with the argument at the center.

Thanks, Tim. Evangelical, exvangelical, there's disappointment in people across the spectrum. I remain wary of anyone whose goal is to build a platform. As a deconstructing podcaster, I just wanted to connect with people and unfuck my head.

I haven't known what to say about this. While I never followed her work, I did interview Heather on my podcast, felt it was not a great interview, kinda forgot about it. We've heard about former guests doing shitty stuff, but this takes the cake. I hope her career is over and her daughter is safe.

Maleficent's transformation onto a dragon at the end of Sleeping Beauty is the first time I remember getting a nightmare from a movie.

I mostly can't stand The Grateful Dead, but his 4.5-hour episode about them by way of the song "Dark Star" was fascinating. Didn't turn me into a fan, but didn't have to do that to be great.

The next level is realizing there's no need to like the song that is ostensibly the subject. It's a jumping off point, and the whole series is telling the chronological story of the rock era, and how he contextualizes everything is incredible.

It's really interesting that baseball is the one major sport that doesn't have any sort of playoffs that would culminate in an annual championship winner. Instead, every year October arrives and baseball just ends.

Laid off in August for the first time (thanks to AI) but had some good interviews so far, helping my oldest apply for colleges, haven't decided if I'm done podcasting, started a YouTube channel a few months ago and have very much enjoyed making videos, and music for the videos.

I've been in religious communities that talked a big game about the idea that Christians, being made in the image of God AND knowing God, the ultimate creator, should be creating the BEST art, but I think the success of AI worship music is what truly best represents modern Christianity.

Whoah, I interviewed her on my podcast once, but wasn't familiar with her work before my co-host booked her (I tended to book the non/ex-Christian guests). Kinda forgot about her afterwards. Just googled and yiiiiiikes.

Oh, it is definitely not enough. Dipoto has had a decade, and by most accounts acts as de facto manager in various circumstances. We need a manager who can be an effective manager, and a GM who can be an effective GM. And an owner who doesn't suck shit.
