currently 5/10 sprites done on the DPN pixel capsule art thingy, gonna have a visual gag where Spin Man is stuck upside down but you can't see his face due to the bottom part of the capsule but trust he is miserable

NES style sprite of Spin Man, a robot master with two halves of a yo-yo on either side of his head. he's stuck on his head, frowning uncomfortably as his legs dangle in the air.

I kinda want to try designing one in pixel and working backwards from that just to see where that takes me

the process of adapting my designs to pixel art has been very interesting, that is to say a bit of a pain in the butt but I do have insight into why many robot masters look the way they do now

playing around with CRT filters has taught me this: big, defined shapes and simple coloring work very well. this will probably inform how I choose to illustrate things I plan on using the filter with

Deleted that quote because I don't want people thinking it's a putting myself down thing I just thought it was funny

Don't worry making something heinously bad was my intention here

Can't talk here. I've set up an elaborate set of clues leading you to a rooftop where you will meet my carrier pigeon who's been trained to destroy my message if you take too long

Also it's funnier if you assume all games are taking place in the span of like 2-3 years. Building robots is easy as fuck and everyone is being really really irresponsible

The entire plot hinges on one old fart's hatred for another old fart turning him evil as fuck and also into a rampant plagiarist

Megaman classic both has lore and does not have lore. It's simplicity is deceiving and everyone is sort of unhinged

Mutt pretty much @muttinitial.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Compared to the racist caricatures in other characters it's not as bad but still kinda gross

030

Mutt pretty much @muttinitial.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

It's kinda weird that the only robot master who canonically has even a drop of melanin, blast man, is characterized as aggressive and violent. Far from the first racist shit capc0m has done but not unexpected.

I miss tagging systems baked into website UI, easier to find what you wanted and easier to avoid what you don't. Search optimization sucks ASS these days and I've gotta dig to find what I'm after

Many people, such as Wily don't really see them as members of society the same way a human is. While Light believes in robot rights, but he doesn't personally do enough with his platform out of fear of controversy.

Mutt pretty much @muttinitial.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

My Megaman classic interpretation has some pretty big gaps in the personal rights of robots. They are essentially seen as equipment that's rented out to whomever needs them for their purposes- the ability to reason and problem solve on their own is just a bonus.

120

Mutt pretty much @muttinitial.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

In my version of things, some Wily bots no longer associate with Wily but at the same time have no desire to work as 'normal, good' robots- such as Crashman. thus, they are basically just vagrants

The 2026 horror point-and-click adventure game Endacopia contains unused, seemingly deliberately clashing Mario pixel art assets (often jokingly called the "So Retro" art style) in its files. These were likely used as placeholders during development.

Who remembers these little pixel art pictures on their old mobile phone? No apps. No emoji packs. Just skulls, weed leaves, sexy logos and Madonna ringtones. The early 2000s were something else.

Pixel-art SMS pictures and mobile logos from the early 2000s.
