Lots of interesting stuff in this but the big one to me is the idea of being a role model. Being a successful role model is all about understanding the audience. I have this conversation with folks all the time at work it feels like. Yes, you are addressing the person that asked the question but […]

There is a lot wrong with Murica but just having elections whenever you feel like seems deeply inefficient...

I think it's fair to say that the fediverse is not largely pro-military, US or otherwise, but hear me out... These USS Lincoln folks got dicked over. If we are going to have any large-scale antiwar protests like Vietnam, these guys will be the Forest Gumps. So, let's try to remember that they […]

might have spoke too soon. I mean it did go live, but not sure about the recording. @alien23 we might have to dual "record" with one going to YouTube for recording and one going live...or we could record locally and then upload to dalek.zone. Not 100% sure yet, but I def don't see the video […]

Podcasts are on my mind because well they always are but very specifically because my upcoming trip to #Sandiego and I've been thinking about whether I should practice my Spanish down there or just continue with my Japanese.

If you are thinking man that is a lot of podcasts, I listen at 2x normally but sometimes faster or slower depending on audio quality. This is one reason why music shows aren't higher.

I listened to i think all of The History of Japan on another phone but now ahead of Portugal

Also, it's worth noting that some music shows would be higher but I often start them over when they get close to the end since they are set to auto delete on play. Also, I ride a lot less than I used to. I train harder but I dont go on as many 100 milers as I did. This is largely due to having a […]

Hello everyone. I'm a recent migrant from the Forkiverse, an instance that's shutting down pretty soon. It was my first foray into the fediverse and I decided to keep the adventure going and it's brought me here. Happy to be with you all.

Feel like it's been a while since I posted one of these. I think I was really excited about Revolutions and The Pirate History Podcast and that got me doing it. Most recently I have been listening to The Siècle which is definitely not as good but some of that […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

Burkianism apparently is "conservative" but that's not the way I read the initial description. I guess the key destinction is how one defines changing with haste. The American Revolution stuck because the founding fathers kept the bulk of British law while looking to ancient republics for […]

I think I've figured out the successor to #TINT. For those that dont recall, TINT stood for "This is not TINAP". TINAP was an old "status.net show" called This is Not a Podcast. I'm still waiting for Temu Tommy to get back to me but I think the name will be The Temu Tommy and Rent-a-Remco Show […]

The season isn't over which seems crazy after watching episode 5 so it could still take a GOT-style dump at the end (i didnt hate the last season but i think the last two seasons came out before the books and that was very clearly a mistake)...but wow is #Lanterns good.
