Thank you to our sitting state representative Tram Nguyen for coming out to canvass with Team Murray today! The 18th Essex district has made tremendous strides under Rep. Nguyen’s leadership, and we have come too far in the last eight years to take a single step back.

After that, the team and I met up at Andover’s RevFest, celebrating 250 years of the nation we call home. The organizers did a fantastic job, and everyone I talked to had a great time meeting the colonial artisans, visiting the reimagined “Abbot Tavern”, and watching Andover’s first ever drone show!

It’s been a busy weekend already! Yesterday, I kicked off the morning with a hike to Lake Cochichewick to assist with North Andover DPU’s clean-up efforts along the shoreline, and then I headed over to the historic Parson Barnard House for a tour led by the house’s knowledgeable caretaker, David.

I noticed a common thread - it’s not enough for a candidate to simply say they want change. We have to go further. We have to be able to articulate exactly what kind of change we want to make and we must be ready to come into office with a clear and realistic plan to get it done.

On Saturday, I stopped by the Tewksbury Lions Club annual beep ball tournament where Boston Strong and the Boston Renegades faced off against the Tewksbury Fire Department. It was wonderful meeting so many engaged and enthusiastic members of our community!

We had beautiful weather for today’s Day of Action in Tewksbury! I always have so much fun hanging with the team and connecting with voters on big canvassing days like this, so thank you to every volunteer who showed up and helped make the afternoon a success!🚪🍂

As an American, it is a reminder of all I have to be grateful for, and as a public servant, it is a reminder of the paramount responsibility to protect and enhance the lives of everyone who calls this beautiful state and nation home.

I may not have been here on 9/11, but it is not just a date to me, nor is it an abstract concept.

And it is through remembering that we deepen our empathy for every person we meet, regardless of their race, religion, or political party, knowing that they too are human beings deserving of love.

It is through remembering that we show our respect for those who perished on September 11th and the sacrifices of those impacted by the fumes at Ground Zero and by the wars and conflicts that came in the wake of the attacks.

Preserving the memory of those we lost on 9/11 and in the years that followed is a responsibility we all must take very seriously whether we experienced the events of that day ourselves or experience them through the stories of our parents, teachers, and elders.
